Dr. John Marsh was the first doctor and Harvard graduate to settle in California. He worked to protect the local Native Americans and bring Alta California peacefully into the Union. His house and part of his original rancho is now being made into a state historic park.

I am 6'4", 190 lbs, a retired geologist, graduate of UC Berkeley, painter, surfer and newbie video editor. I also love movies and Hawaii. One of my volunteer activities is working for the John Marsh Historic Trust-a state wide organization dedicated to restoring the Marsh mansion and making people aware of his contribution to Western settlement.
