Singer songwriter Mark Kaye, born 1-10-76 in Honolulu Hawaii. He lives and performs in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Mark is the son of a professional Hawaiian boxer, and one of four brothers. Mark began playing piano at age five and started writing songs at age eight. By age eleven, he was the lead singer and keyboardist of his own band.
His fanbase has been growing the last two years due to the release of 6 cds and live performances. He engineers and produces all of his music released on his independant label Dafunk Music. Grammy nominated producer Greg Landau has referred to Mark as a combination of Herbie Hancock/John Legend.
Marks latest cd titled "Just Funky" showcases his writing, singing and producing skills. They also feature his elite keyboard and piano playing.
Mark has also just finished a project with the bass player Paul Jackson and drummer Mike Clark from the legendary Herbie Hancock and the Head Hunters. The project is called East Bay Messengers and will be release on DaFunk Music early 2010.
