Malo De Dentro was formed in 2005 in the Phoenix, Arizona area by guitarist Chuck Simoes and drummer Sixkiller. After recruiting Ben Litke as Malo's front man, they began to implement their musical ideas and sound. With the addition of guitarist Jerry Loomis and bassist David Chaney, the band was able to achieve their ultimate goal of a tight, heavy sound with a touch of a tribal backbone that brings out the "Malo" in them all.
In 2007, the band took a short hiatus to work on other projects. Sixkiller and Chuck worked on a blues-based rock project, while Ben and Jerry joined up with Burn the Herd. In November of 2007, Sixkiller and Chuck had decided to head back to the studio and revive Malo, along with Dave back on bass. In 2008, Joe Bertucci was added on vocals, taking Malo to a whole new level. Joe's vocal style is a perfect match to the Malo sound.
The addition of John Hamilton on Guitar has added back in that missing dynamic that has escaped Malo since the departure of Jerry Loomis. John brings a fullness to the Malo sound that adds to the sound that makes Malo De Dentro a premiere metal band in Arizona
In late 2009, the band decided to take another short hiatus to focus on their full time lives and get their respective "houses" in order. After 6 months though, Joe, Chuck, Sixkiller and John decided to fire things back up; picking up The Phantom on Bass. Malo in 2010 will bring new material, working with even darker, deeper sounds and more creative juices will flow once again.
The new "Evil Within" CD is available now, and features 9 songs from Malo De Dentro.
