Do not believe in something merely because you have heard it (bare assertion).
Do not believe in traditions merely because they have been handed down for many generations (custom).
Do not believe in anything merely because it is regarded and spoken of by many (consensus).
Do not believe anything merely because it was written by some old sage (authority).
Do not believe in conjectures (superstition).
Do not believe in that which you have become attached to by habit (routine).
Do not believe merely on the authority of your teachers and elders (deference).
Rather, when the result agrees with reason, observation and analysis are conducive to the beneficent gain of one and all (logic).
Accept and live up to it (truth).
Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
