For my Wife.... magilla4hire - 52 views - 10 months ago
A short slide show for my wife before I went on a CRAZY-DANGEROUS MISSION in Afghanistan. I had a bad feeling I might get hurt or worse, so I made this to send to her. It made me feel better and more confident.

Evan Tanner Tribute (February 11, 1971 -- c. September 8, 2008) medicinemon - 25,070 views - 10 months ago
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight champion Evan Tanner was found dead in the desert near Palo Verde, Calif. on September 8th, 2008. He was 37 years old.

He was a truly Free Spirit; A fighter and philosopher, and will be missed greatly. I made this tribute in his memory... RIP Evan.

***There's been a lot of negative comments stating how stupid he was for going out in the desert, etc., so I'm going to reply with my opinion. Please read it before you post your trash.

Evan was always testing himself and the human spirit, he literally tried everything he could, and wasn't thrown by fame or fortune in his ultimate quest for spiritual purity...

The part in the video where he's explaining how in a fight he always looks for the finish, regardless if it's his opponent or himself that's finished, helps support this argument.

People laugh at the times he "apparently" failed in life, like the time he repaired that junker boat and it sunk, or when he'd blow his fight earnings in the casino. He was in fact highly intelligent and well-read, and clearly knew what the possible consequences could be each time he took on a new adventure. The point is, he always gave it a shot, growing as an individual rather than financially or by other tangible means.

He went out and challenged himself, and this time the opponent ultimately won, but if given a second chance, I truly believe he'd do it again the very same way. He went out doing what he loved, and is now embarking on the ultimate spiritual journey; The Afterlife.
