"Relation Education #1" by Maggie Lane
Why character? You may ask.
Because when it comes to relationships, nothing is more important than good character.
In the Bible, Hosea 4:6, says, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
My hope is to prepare you so you will not be destroyed.
In order to do this, I will present the character traits of 3 women from the Bible.
Now guys dont shut me off here. You need to listen too so you can be prepared for the sort of woman you want to know (Like Adam knew Eve)
Think of what such a relationship might be like.
Lets start with the familiar, Delilah. She was the notorious lover of Samson who was the strongest man of his time, but she betrayed him for money. With a lover like that who needs enemies?
But money can do strange things to people. Maybe she would have never betrayed his love if money were not involved. Im sure Samson never thought she was capable of what she did, but he did not know how to read character. So lets see what he didnt;
First of all, she was paid to use feminine charms. These days women like this are known as prostitutes.
But beyond that she was deceptive, meaning she was a liar; she was totally accepting of him but she was not honest. How could he believe the truth about her if he was already emotionally tied to her sexually? He thought she loved him, but she was seductive only to ensnare him and seductiveness worked because he did not regard the soul-tie being formed from their physical union any more than she did. His feelings at the moment were all that mattered to him
Another woman to look at is Jezebel (Now she was a queen) A status like that probably attracted many men. However, she was
1.Selfish - never considers feelings of others
2.Manipulative - lies and cheats to get own way
3.Controlling - never allows others to make choices
4.Arrogant - tries to act better than others
5.Condescending - puts others down with words and actions
Which means that she would stoop to anything to get her own way, and . . . in the end, God turned her into dog poop! How is that for reaping a just reward?
But curses can be turned into blessings if we are able to understand how we are affected by the actions of others and how others are affected by us.
Lastly, lets look at Esthers character traits:
First, she was a Virgin. She was a girl who was pure in heart as well as body, who never had a physical relationship with a man.
She did not live for the moment never assuming that her position gave her the right to already be queen, and she fasted for 3 days (seeking wisdom from the Lord)
She was Obedient - to God, to Mordecai, to Hegai & finally to the king
She was also prepared for the future by being given beauty treatments for a year; even so, we all need to be prepared for the future!
But she also knew that her decisions held the power of life and death It wasnt all just about her, and she knew others were affected by her choices.
So what about you?
Are you aware enough of what is happening in your life to be able to change the future?
Can you make choices for yourself that are in your own best interest, as well as that of others? It sounds like a simple question doesnt it? But it takes the inner strength of great character to pull it off.
This life is not a game. It is real. And you are not going to get another chance.
When your life is over, what will be said about you?
Will the future generations remember you for the choices you made in honor of them?
Allowing curses to be turned to blessings, or will you allow curses to get a foothold in your own life because you believe lies that say you too weak to have the courage to choose what is best for you.
Dont just go away from this video telling yourself that you have it all together when you are sure to know someone who needs this message. People out there are hurting and now you have a tool that can help. You have the power to change the future!
