This Byrds classic was written by folk legend Pete Seeger over fifty years ago. The lyrics were adapted by Pete from the Bible, the Book of Ecclesiastes, Chapter 3 Verse 1-8.
I've always felt that it says that we are born into an environment where things usually go wrong, but bad times always pass. It's a song of hope.
Roger McGuinn arranged a version for Judy Collins. The version done by the Byrds is one of the best songs of the sixties.
Hope you like this acoustic version, done in the key of A and slightly faster than the McGuinn versions.

I want to invite you to my new free and radical songwriters web site! I think your youtube clips would have a good chance of winning awards there. The site was only launched a couple of days ago and already songwriters are flooding in and singing its praises. I know you would love the facilities and interaction with other writers. I look forward to chatting with you there.
Regards
Brian
