Biography:
Stephen Douglas "Steve" Kerr (born September 27, 1965 in Beirut, Lebanon) is a retired American professional basketball player. He is noted as being the all time leader in three point field goal percentage in NBA history. Kerr is a five-time NBA champion, and the only NBA player to win four consecutive championships in the last 30 years.
On June 2, 2007, the Phoenix Suns named Kerr the team's President of Basketball Operations and General Manager. Kerr helped Managing Partner Robert Sarver buy the Suns in 2004 and has been one of Sarver's trusted basketball advisors over the past three years.The son of Malcolm Kerr, an American academic who specialized in the Middle East, Kerr spent much of his childhood in Lebanon and other Arab states. He attended Cairo American College in Egypt and Palisades High School (now Palisades Charter High School) in Pacific Palisades, California. On January 18, 1984, Kerr's father, who was then serving as president of the American University of Beirut, was assassinated by suspected militant nationalists in Beirut.Kerr was minimally recruited out of high school because he could not jump and was two steps slower than other point guards.Kerr played basketball for the University of Arizona from 1983 to 1988. In summer 1986, Kerr was named to the USA Basketball team that competed in the FIBA World Championship in Spain. The team became the last American Men's Senior Team composed strictly of amateur players to capture a gold medal. Kerr injured his knee during the tournament, forcing him to miss an entire season (1986-87) at Arizona. After returning to the team, Kerr became a fan favorite due to his leadership and long-range shooting. He helped the Wildcats reach the Final Four of the NCAA Division I basketball tournament in 1988, along with future NBA teammate Sean Elliott and future NBA journeyman Tom Tolbert. He also set an NCAA record for three point percentage in a single season (114-199, 57.3%).Kerr was selected by the Phoenix Suns in the second round of the 1988 NBA Draft, but was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 1989. He spent over three seasons (1989 to 1992) there, and then part of the 199293 season with the Orlando Magic. In 1993, he signed with the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls made the playoffs in the 199394 and 199495 seasons, but without Michael Jordan's presence for all of 1994 and much of 1995, though, they could notadvance to the Finals. In the 2003 playoffs, Kerr made key contributions in Game Six of the Spurs' Western Conference Finals series against the Dallas Mavericks. Among those were four clutch three-pointers that helped to eliminate the Mavericks. The Spurs eventually won the NBA championship that year by beating the New Jersey Nets in a six-game Finals series, led by Kerr, David Robinson, Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginóbili, among others.From 2003 to 2007, Kerr was a broadcast analyst for Turner Network Television (TNT), offering commentary alongside renowned analyst Marv Albert. During his tenure he performed a segment sponsored by Coors Light called Steve's Refreshing Thoughts in which he brought up interesting facts in NBA history. In the same time period, Kerr also contributed to Yahoo! as an NBA commentator.Steve Kerr and Robert Horry, another famous reserve player and clutch shooter, alternated NBA Championships for a decade, and combined to win 12 championships over a 14-year period. Either Kerr or Horry was on the roster of an NBA Finals team from the 1993-94 season through the 2002-03 season, with every one resulting in a victory. Horry's teams were victorious in the NBA Finals in 1994, 1995, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005 and 2007, while Kerr's teams were winners in the NBA Finals in 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2003. Each won three titles playing for Phil Jackson-coached teams and two with the Gregg Popovich-led San Antonio Spurs.

Lucien James "Luc" Longley (born January 19, 1969 in Melbourne, Victoria) is a retired Australian professional basketball player, who was the first Australian to play in the NBA. He attended college at the University of New Mexico. Known for his passing ability and free spirit, Longley drew comparisons to fellow redhead Bill Walton upon his entry into the NBA.Longley was drafted 7th overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves in 1991. After two plus mediocre seasons with the struggling franchise, the 7'2" (218 cm) center was traded to the Chicago Bulls for Stacey King late in the 1993-94 season. He won three straight championships with the Bulls from 1996 to 1998.Following the break up of the championship Bulls in 1998, Chicago did a sign and trade with Longley, sending him to the Phoenix Suns for Mark Bryant, Martin Muursepp, Bubba Wells, and a conditional first-round draft pick. Longley spent two lackluster seasons with Phoenix, where he gained less attention for his play than for being stung twice by a scorpion while sitting on the floor of his home sorting through his CD collection.1 (Longley also had difficulties with bodysurfing - he managed to separate his shoulder and miss 18 games in 1997. He was traded to the New York Knicks prior to the 200001 NBA season in what was only the second four-team trade in NBA history. The Suns acquired Chris Dudley as part of the deal together with a first-round draft pick from New York and an undisclosed amount of cash, while New York received Longley, Glen Rice, Travis Knight, Vladimir Stepania, Lazaro Borrell, Vernon Maxwell, two first-round draft picks (from the Los Angeles Lakers and the Seattle SuperSonics) and two second-round draft picks from Seattle. Seattle received Patrick Ewing and the Lakers received Horace Grant, Greg Foster, Chuck Person and Emanual Davis. Longley spent one year with New York before retiring. Longley averaged 7.20 points and 4.90 rebounds per game in his 567 regular season game NBA career. Longley played more NBA games than any other Australian and is widely regarded as one of the best Australian basketballers ever.Longley did not appear in many international matches with the Australian Boomers during his career, likely due to various injuries that stemmed from an ankle injury that eventually ended his playing days.Longley attended Scotch College, Perth for the majority of his high schooling, was part-owner of the Perth Wildcats basketball club in the Australian National Basketball League for several years (he played 2 games for the club in 1986), and is currently the #1 ticket holder of the Fremantle Dockers in the Australian Football League.
On April 6, 2007, Longley's $2 million home in Fremantle, Western Australia, was destroyed by a fire. It is believed much of Longley's memorabilia from his basketball career was lost, although his three championship rings may have been spared.He is currently a specialist coach for the Perth Wildcats.
