Rock City is proud to install their first commissioned piece of outdoor artwork in the gardens. Perched Raptor by Isaac Duncan III was created using recycled metal and is on display in the Critter Classroom where the Rock City Raptors Birds of Prey Shows occur from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Also on display is a life-size replica of an Eagle's Nest built under the guidance of Jim Pftizer with the help of children and families during Rock City's Earth Dayz celebration in April. The Eagle's Nest replica is handmade using gathered twigs and sticks similar to the way an Eagle would have created their nest. It has been placed in a tree close to the Critter Classroom.

As a part of the Southern Blooms Festival at Rock City Gardens, two American Chestnut trees were planted at Rock City. These trees were a part of the Chattanooga Chestnut Tree Project in which they plan to restore American chestnuts to the southern Appalachian forest. The objective of the chestnut breeding program is to select locally adapted, genetically diverse blight resistant chestnuts for distribution to the public. The trees planted at Rock City will be closely monitored by scientists to ensure proper growth and health.

Come help Rock City go "greener" during this naturally fun outdoor event. Rock City Raptors Birds of Prey Shows will be offered during Earth Dayz. Storytelling with "Chattanooga's Storyteller" with hands-on activities also available in the Critter Classroom in between Birds of Prey Shows.

Several bands are scheduled to perform in the pavilion, including the Chattanooga Pipe Band and the Molly Maguires.
