Lonely Boy Records was founded by Roy Povarchik in order to promote good quality music. After years of working as a critic for Alternative-zine.com, and as a Musician / Producer Roy Povarchik has decided to influence the music scene not from the outside, but from the inside. Bringing good musical acts that don't get thier credit for, is only a part of what Lonely Boy Records is all about.


"It's been a while now, that I'm feeling that something is not right with the way music is represented here in Isreal",says co-founder and PR manager, Roy Povarchik. "There are a lot of really great talented artists out there, creating beautiful and interesting new music, but they are forced to waste their talent and work in meaningless day-jobs while playing their music only to accidental bystanders in lonesome bars. I think some talents are just a shame to waste".

"The world is getting smaller these days, with the internet and all, and there are many new ways to distribute one's music. But the truth is that it takes a lot of time, and effort and more than once I've seen artists give up just because they can't get their head around all the politics that surrounds the music industry. With Lonely Boy Records, I really hope we can free the artist from all those politics, and just let him concentrate on his music."

"In addition I think this is a very interesting time for the music industry. Everything is changing, sides are being chosen, and frankly, I think this is an exciting time in every aspect. Musically, we are experiencing amazing diversity. These days, almost anyone can record at his home studio and put it up on YouTube, or MySpace, extending our listening options. Business-wise, it's very noticeable that all the old time structures are kinda trembling down, and everybody's just trying to figure out how to stay relevant, while others find themselves being relevant to this industry for the first time."


"I think that because of some awful mistakes made in the music industry, some people got the impression that all record labels are bad and this is not how it should be. I think that contrary to what a lot of signed artists are experiencing at the moment, your label, record company, whatever it is, should be here to make the artist life much more comfortable and at ease, not try to take away their paycheck. Hopefully, with the "Lonely Boy Records" project, we can set an example that not all record labels are "bad"".
