About LISC
Founded in 1979, LISC is a national organization with a community focus. LISC is located in 30 offices across the country. In collaboration with local community development groups, we help identify priorities and challenges, delivering the most appropriate support to meet local needs. Our support include grants, loans, equity, and technical and organizational assistance.

In almost 30 years, LISC has invested $9 billion into distressed communities, leveraging $28 billion in development. The results are 245,000 affordable homes and apartments and 36 million square feet of retail and community space.

LISC's new strategic plan--Building Sustainable Communities--supports comprehensive community health and sustainability. Five core goals define the larger strategy:

1) Expanding Investment in Housing and Other Real Estate
2) Increasing Family Income and Wealth
3) Simulating Economic Development
4) Improving Access to Quality Education
5) Supporting Healthy Environments and Lifestyles
