Dear Pastor Sam
I came across your "How To Overcome The Subtlety of Inner Doubt Sermon" on You Tube and it made such an impact on me I felt I needed to thank you. I type in "Overcoming Doubt" on Google, but I had no idea I would find insight that cut right to the core of me. Coincidentally, the other day in conversation about faith I asked a friend if he'd ever seen The Usual Suspects, and related to him the line where a character says "The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist." I've been convinced for weeks that there was some insight in that statement that I needed to milk out.

When you explained that maybe the inner voices that criticize us originate from the Enemy a deep chill went up and down my spine.
I've been plagued by fear and anxiety attacks my whole life. I've numbed out with alcohol, been in therapy and taken prescribed pills, but never once did I view that my self cruelty and self deprecation wasn't an inevitable part of my personality. I've fought against my harmful thoughts in every way I could think of trying to make them go away, but I never considered that I could just allow them to be and disassociate them from my sense of self.

It's not finished yet but I am finally waking up and realizing that God does have something special for me.
