California Air Resources Board fails to regulate auto exhaust, fails to relate that exhaust to the refinery pollution that it makes necessary, and fails to enforce the Zero Emission Vehicle Mandate.
Only oil-free cars will stop our petroleum addiction. Instead, CARB attacks backyard BBQ, wood burning, port diesel, and creates complicated regulations designed to confuse the public. These things are bad, but CARB is IGNORING THE BIG PROBLEM, petroleum, while wasting time and $300 million per year on these snipe-hunts. When will CARB attack refineries and oil emissions? When will they stop avoiding the issue? Maybe they should hold meetings near the refineries of Wilmington, which kill kids lungs every day. |

GM helped Chevron kill the EV1, and now denies that the batteries needed for a plug-in car exist. This proves they do.

RAV4-EV Nickel Battery story
RAV4-EV Battery story - part two (2)
October 19, 2007, 06:11 AM
Now that we've seen both the EV-95 battery and the car that it powers, what can we do with it?
If these plug-in cars are made available for sale, some of the money that formerly went to the oil companies to pay for burning gas, leaving only pollution, can pay off your solar...

RAV4-EV Battery story - part one (1)
October 19, 2007, 06:11 AM
RAV4-EV uses EV-95 batteries, as you've heard. What are these marvelous batteries? Are they invisible, immaterial? Can they be for real?
Here's the story of how they came to be, and why they work in the Toyota RAV4-EV. And why GM never was much interested in using them f...

I really think like you,
But oke, we live in holland.. and we have these EU rules and Dutch rules about cars. And they are like 100 times heavier then american car rules. We cannot place an electric motor in a regular car. We have this weight rule.. And you as electric car expert know that electric cars weight more.. And Our rules say: The car isn't build for that weight so.. NO. And electric cars are really strange for the RDW ( the place you let your car check to be legal on the road ). These rules make even a DC conversion really diffucult. And we can't buy a Rav4ev or an EV1. We just have no choice.. and that's what bothers me. |

Great info Doug,
If someone just has the guts to steal the patent & make a proper battery, it should be done. That is simple ethics. How bad would Chevron look if the lawsuit hit mainstream media? (If) Public outcry could make the case go away, or at a minimum Chevron would sell the patent. This is America, if people stop being brainwashed by hydrogen and ethanol, we could move into th 21st century finally. And don't mind that Jimmy idiot. I have three cars. A Scion Xa, a Gen II Prius awaiting funding for plug in mods, and an 87 Buick GN (the other great car that GM killed) with 400hp for clowns like Jimmy. Of course the Buick gets the worst mpg. But how can I complain about a 400hp car that gets 24mpg. It also has fewer emission than any current GM when I run on Ethanol. Being Green & taking money away from terrorist can be fun. |

Hello Doug,
Its been 10 years since the Rav4EV and EV1 were killed, but how long will the pattent Chevron is using last for anyway? Is there an alternative way of using the chemicals of that battery (perhaps even improving on the design) that would allow a battery manufacturer to avoid being sued over this decade old pattent? |

Just dropping in to say keep up the good work. I think the film, (and your participation of course) has really helped with awareness. I can only pray that all this talk about for instance the "Volt" pans out. However, like you say in your youtube vids, I am not going to put much enthusiasm into it. They already have a lot of the technology available and are choosing to ignore it. It is because the money isn't in selling someone a battery as energy storage. Bush offered the money for "Hydrogen" because then the oil companies can make profit off of producing hydrogen. Maybe that is why Alan Lloyd switched to the hydrogen pipe dream, cause if it works out he could get some royalties or something. The whole thing di | |
