http://youngpoisoner.blogspot. com/2005_11_01_youngpoisoner_a rchive.html "The L.A. Issue -- Best of L.A." -- XLR8R Magazine "The Next 100 -- Languis ..21" -- URB Magazine "The band makes gorgeous, sumptuous, delicately beautiful noises...Languis is without a doubt one of the most interesting bands in the city (LA)." -- New York Press The residents of Planet Earth can relax -- the band that calls themselves Languis has returned. Take a deep breath. Let go. It started over a decade ago in a place called Argentina. A warm little melody woke up one morning and rolled down a sonic glacier, gradually gaining speed, only to land in Buenos Aires. Cohen and Chloca. A partnership forged in sound. You sit at your computer, waiting for the signal. The hypnotic buzz is calling you. You rise and walk out the door... A jet plane touches down in Los Angeles. The wheels screech. Nothing will ever be the same. Classic songwriting is processed through a synthesizer. Analog and digital. Complexity and light. A sensation akin to eavesdropping on a whispered conversation, a secret dialogue, the Socratic method cloaked in mystery. These are simball sounds. Layers of mood. A sound collage. Emerging from the fog, the delicate cacophany of vocals and guitar. The discovery of the last frequency presets. The soundboard is haunted -- someone let a ghost loose in the studio. Static and distortion, imperceptible to the human ear. In the year 2000, the world is not destroyed. Instead, something beautiful marks the turn of the century. Unithematic. Pianos and organs. A rich exploration in a deep sonic dreamscape. The earthlings are sleeping. Music for alien fugitives. Languis has turned a corner. The buzz leads you down through the slumbering city. Under a dark blue sky, you search for the source of the transmission. A soft rain is falling as you drift past the towers... A loose tangle of organic and synthetic textures. An atmospheric palindrome. The world is soon untied. Samplers and sequencers. A blip on the radar. A futurist manifesto. Elusive as a shadow, Languis dissolves into the past. This is not a dream. No, this is really happening. An innovative dissonance, Languis is closing in on the world. The four walls are a subtle tsunami. A dose of retro-psychedelia. 1968 or was it 1986? Tranquil melodies envelop and embrace. Ambient explosions of tenderness. And now they have returned. Echoes and fuzz. Electronic armies in search of human DNA. Swesey and Girgus. Cohen and Chloca. Refugees forever. Languis' finest hour is upon us. You look up at the swirling constellations and listen to the buzz. The satellites have brought you here to the edge of the water. Suddenly, you are drowning in Languis. No need to panic. Take a deep breath. Let go... - by Adam Willens (2005)

a video for "city of lights" is inevitable, yes?
