Rochelle Lesser, a School Psychologist who engages in animal-assisted therapy, is the founder and president of the Land of PureGold Foundation, Inc., a Maryland based public nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity. The foundation promotes the strengthening and lengthening of the Human-Canine Bond, and is raising monies for cancer treatment for working dogs and research in comparative oncology.

Professional publications include two monograph articles: "Stress and Illness in the Family: A Linear versus Family Life Space Perspective" and "The Child with Cancer: A Life Space Study of Six Families." Her private practice and graduate teaching work, however, have been curtailed due to a disability and struggles with a mixed connective tissue disease.
