Jess Alice was the feature of Spinning Room that Tuesday.

Most of the poets, when I spoke to them, said that I should get Jess Alice when they found out I would be recording performances that night.

I missed out on one of her poems because my cam ran out of memory AND battery, but was somehow coaxed into recording the rest after that.

Jon Garrett is introducing her, followed by Jess Alice, and then, a lucky draw. Every week the lucky draw prizes are books and a bottle of wine (I'm guessing, anyway).

The Spinning Room is a weekly Melbourne poetry event imported from London by Jon Garrett in 2000. Anthony WP O'Sullivan has been with Spinning Room for (at least) the last five years, and is the regular compere.

Anyone into South American music? Found this "music from the andes" band performing outside the shop I buy my soapbars from. The wind was so strong I half expected it to pick up and blow everyone away.

Quite a lot of my friends have probably watched them, in 2007's Rainforest World Music Festival.
