I'm glad you're spreading the word on Peak Oil and the inevitable changes it is forcing on our lives. Keep on posting, and above all keep on dancing!

I'm really pleased that someone like you is taking on this topic.
Thanks for sharing your views on this topic. I like that its ends with a
little lighthearted dancing. These subjects can be so heavy and serious...

If you research "solar ponds" you will find that the solution to the energy crisis is at hand, but will never be implemented because the forces that have taken over the U.S. government do not want America to be energy independent.
Yes, the solution is simple - use (salt) water to absorb the heat from the sun and then use that warm water to run "rankine cycle" engines to power generators which will power the electric cars that we will never make (so Japan can).
Wikipedia has links to the truth... search for "solar ponds"... then imagine what we could do with the deserts of the American southwest.

Nice tune!! Thanks for the request....its something that interests me. I was in the doom and gloom camp but I've kinda decided that it doesn't have to be that way. Market forces will dictate that alternative fuels = profit as oil prices rise so the market will naturally move in that direction. The increase in oil prices also make alternatives more financially viable so will be attractive to ALL consumers, not just those of an eco-friendly persuasion. This will also be led by the Insurance industry, which could dissolve if Global warming continues as they can't cover increases in natural disasters. Their collapse would equal a collapse in the markets, and I can't see that being allowed to happen. I think the issue is vitally important, along with increases in food prices and in a worst case scenario could see large loss of life and a return to an agrarian economy...but I think too many people stand to lose too much for them to allow that to happen...

I used to believe in Escape from Suburbia until I ran across a video called The Energy Non Crisis. I recommend everyone watch it and then make up their own minds.
