My 25-year background is an experimental and continuously evolving experience marked by many excursions and detours, including various forms of community involvement supporting both musical and visual arts. I have grown and developed through many genres of music. I began with formal training on the flute at age nine and began studying classical guitar at age twelve. By the time I graduated from high school, I was playing guitar professionally in classic rock and pop bands in night clubs around Idaho and Oregon. Since then I have played improvisational/art rock, jazz fusion, world fusion, and eventually progressed to playing traditional jazz locally.

In 1993, I began studying the method of real-time looping, the technique of digitally recording live performance, playing it back in real-time, and repeating this process indefinitely to produce multiple layers of interweaving and complimentary guitar parts. Since then, I have become one of the North West's most prolific real-time experimental and avant-garde looping artists and Idaho's leading member of the international looping community Looper's Delight. As a result of my background, I now have a multi-faced style and can draw upon many genres of music to express myself in both music performance and recording. The style I am currently exploring is experimental and avant-garde.

My community involvement includes creating new ways for musicians to communicate with each other (websites, internet discussion groups, peer-driven events, etc), performing for art related community events, and raising awareness and appreciation of avant-garde music. My vision as a performing and recording musician locally is to push artistic boundaries, continuing evolving, and celebrate the wealth of artistic diversity that the world has to offer and bring to life in Boise and the surrounding Treasure Valley.
