Michael Jackson has shown the way. Under the watchful eyes of the great Kenny Ortega (whose High School Musical series of movies are, as I have explained many times, the very definition of pure movie entertainment) the King of Pop has delivered unto us an all-singing, all-dancing saviour of cinema...
Interesting perspective. I'm curious to know what Avant-Garde & True Art movies you would put on your top 100 list (just a few examples would do). My list; Cinema Paradiso (but I hated the later released un-cut version...like a cheesy Mexican soap-opera), My Life As A Dog, Liquid Sky, Brazil...come see my channel for a fuller list. By the way; would you be interested in a barter deal towards making your first movie and mine?
I mustsay I admire the courage of the last defenders of culture in our modern age of simplification. Your reviews are at least an indication that not all people like blockbuster movies. Keep these reviews coming.
am a huge fan, don't agree with all of Mark's comments and and reviews, but hey, they're opinions for a reason. What I am interested in, is what did he think of District 9 which opened a few weeks back in the U.K. Personally, I thought it was a hugely terrific and FUN film and one of the best science fiction films I've seen in years (Sunshine would come in second, if it wasn't for a tedious 3rd act).
It's just a sad development.
