Born on 24th December 1953 in Tseikuru Village Mwingi District, I am married with four children. I graduated with a Bachelor of Law Degree (LLB. Honours) from University of Nairobi, Kenya and I also hold Post Graduate Diplomas in Law and Management from Kenya School of Law and Mediterranean Institute of Management (MIM), Nicosia, Republic of Cyprus respectively.

I am a consulting partner for Musyoka and Wambua Company Advocates, a Patron for The Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation and a Chief Commissioner of Scouts in Kenya. I have played vital roles in the Parliamentary Parties and the Goverment. I started off as a Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly between 1988 and 1992. Since 1985 to date, I have been the Member of Parliament for Mwingi North Constituency. Between 1988 and 2002, I was the Organizing Secretary for KANU, then the ruling party. I was an Assistant Minister in the ministry of Works, Housing and Physical Planning between 1986 and 1988; Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Relations between 1993 and 1998; In 1998-2001, I was the minister for Education and Human Resource Development and re-appointed to the Foreign Affairs docket in 2003; I was then made the minister for Environment and Natural Resources in 2004.

I was a founding member of the Orange Democratic Movement in 2005, a movement that campaigned against the proposed draft constitution. I am also a founding member of the Liberal Democratic Party and the National Rainbow Coalition.

During my tenure as the Foreign Affairs minister, I played a significant role in mediating peace in Africe and especially in the Southern Sudan and Somalia culminating to the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) for the Sudanese and the Interim Government for the Somalis under the auspices of the IGAD initiatiative.

I have traveled extensively internationally and have attended many conferences, seminars and workshops. I have continued to consistently fight for the rights of the African and the place of Africa in the world.
