OK! Doodle. Dododo ... doodle. Ah, that's cute. I can't say "no" to a child, so I had to do this. I don't know what time it is. What time is it? I have to disqualify myself because I found out about NinjaJessie1 through and TheBlueFlamingo has made a clock. I can't ... I just met TheBlueFlamingo so I can't compete against him. but I have to make the clock. I did get something called Camstudio; it's free. You can make tutorials, using this ... Camstudio. Whatever. I don't know anything! as long as I don't have to read the help menu. Don't make me read it. I decided to make the clock using Pixia, wihch is a freeware editing ... it's a graphics editing program. I guess it's fairly robust for what it is. and they say the best things in life are free. That's not necessisarily true, but this is supposed to be free of
adware and spyware and what-not. So I put links in the description. OK? I had to do the audio outside because the computers ... the fan is just so loud it makes it "eech." So I'm making a clock for Doodle! Did anybody watch Sesame Street? Remember The Count? "I am The Count and I love to Count." and remember the song ... the counting song? 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10 ... eleven. Twelve. You have to have twelve! I made this clock to show 4:30, because I made the clock at 4:30 A.M. I made the hands kind of silly. That's not the way the hands of a clock would usually look. So the hour hand ... and the minute hand. OK, it's 4:30, and you know it's 4:30 because the small hand is pointing to the four, and the big hand is pointing to the six, and that reads "4:30." In this case, it's 4:30 A.M. Well, it isn't now. I'm recording this in the middle of the day. I'm out in broad daylight Where everybody can see
me. Do we have to add one more thing? Yes, I think we do. Alright Doodle. I hope you like your clock. TheBlueFlamingo ... thank you for telling me about Camstudio. I appreciate that. Please forgive me for this second upload. I deleted the first video, since it was the first of two edits. I inadvertently uploaded that instead of this the first time.

To the Starlite Baton Twirlers: The audio didn't sound as good as you would have wanted, so I couldn't include it. I regret that, because I am proud of you. The Declaration of Independence was not a document contrived easily. and not without many broken hearts. And here we are in 2009. I can't help today but think of my friends in the U.K., and how close we are now. And there's a young lady -- LinenRose -- and her Mother is fifipunkle -- here on You Tube. Are the United States and the U.K. connected? LinenRose is named for Rosa Parks.

I'm also thinking of HighHeadJester because it was his birthday yesterday (July 3). He's in North Carolina. We're cousins. We're not cousins. I just say that in the off chance that it might annoy him. maybe about a year ago, I happened upon somebody's video, Somebody had given the video maker a hard time. And there was HighHeadJester defending that guy (the video maker) ... It was just a matter of fact thing. He just defended him, but he did not do it in hate. It made me very proud to know him.

Am I proud to be an American? Well, I always think it's more it's more a matter of responsibility than
pride, but ... it's more a matter of responsibility than pride, but ... And on this day I always wish that I could say in the loudest of voices that we must be united. "I declare the United States united, so that we can do good."

I also stumbled across a video, somebody had made about the Jefferson Memorial (Thomas Jefferson was the primary author of the Declaration of Independence), and this person was going on a little bit about how the words inscribed on the wall, were not quite the words of the Declaration of
Independence. And I think he was very concerned about the purpose. I didn't spend too much time on that video but it looked to me like there was a suggestion of conspiracy. Perhaps it was meant that we forget ... that we not understand our rights as delineated in the Declaration. Have no fear. We'll forget nothing. The declaration of Independence itself is about terminating political ties with Great Britain. Yes, the words exist always. The meaning exists always. Our right ... our inherent right to self govern. Our unalienable rights: Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. that whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government. We know that. That will always be there. It's in history books; it's in textbooks. The human being will always have this inherent understanding that he or she is meant to be free. That will always be preserved. As long as the human lives. Freedom will prevail. Happy Fourth of July."

Please Read:

The Traveling Shoes project began when kalacaw posted a response video to a contest run by debstef in May 2007. She wanted her prized possession, a miniature pair of shoes carved by her grandfather, to travel the world, to bring people together using You Tube as the means to document it.

Kalacaw requested debstef be the first custodian and starting point for the shoes' journey.
From there, the shoes went to MrsAtomicUs5000 in Texas and she passed them to MrAtomicUs5000 in New York. Then, last August, I was selected to receive the shoes. Unfortunately, when they were shipped in November, they were lost by the US postal service and Italian customs until this week when at last they were delivered! Then, in the last month, I moved to the UK so now I am waiting for the shoes to make their way from Italy to here which should be very soon.

"It occurs to me that these shoes are the only things I have that are truly "passed down" things. My Dad was very specific about this. That fleeting thought, "How can I do this?" shakes me a little. "How can I let these shoes leave my hands, to destinations yet unknown!?" I've nothing left of family but memories and things, and now I'm letting go the most important of the lot. Then I thought of all the people who would hold those little shoes in their hands. They would know I loved them very much to do this. They are the reason I'm doing this. It's the biggest thing I can think to do. After remembering that, I'm comforted. I know I've done the right thing. And my Dad would have loved this."

I was thinking of all the people I know who have a bit of sadness during the holiday season, and I know what that's about. Still, I love Christmas, so I use any tool I can to make the sadness work with it ... to acknowledge it, if that makes sense. It seems normal for people in my age group to feel this way, so I don't want to pretend that it doesn't exist for some of us.

I was sad when I got up that morning a few weeks ago, and decided to drive to Georgetown in D.C. I've always been happy there, and I knew I could make myself happy if I were to take that drive. It wasn't planned. It was a spur of the moment thing. The fall footage in the beginning was from a few weeks before that. The fellow who was driving that day is Ben, and I want to thank him for giving me that afternoon.

Daryl (1DRock37167, and one of my bestest YT buddies), asked how I achieved the special effect at 1:13. I thought to put the answer in the description, since I didn't think I would be able to explain this properly with YT's character limit constraint in the comment section.

Okay, here goes. These instructions assume a basic understanding of the editing features offered by Windows Movie Maker (WMM):

I used the following effects in this movie, involving three, short movie clips taken from two splits in a continuous scene.

First clip (1:34 seconds)
Speed UP, Double (2x)
Grayscale

Second clip (0:66 seconds)
Slow Down, Half
3D Ripple
Grayscale

Third clip (2:19 seconds)
Grayscale

The length of time of the first and last clips shouldn't matter, I don't believe. I included the times for each, though, since I discovered this effect accidentally, and am not quite sure. Now that you've added these effects to each clip, (you should be working in the timeline mode, by the way), merge the second clip into the first by dragging it to its own halfway point into the first clip. Then, merge the third clip into the second, meeting the first clip as closely as possible. Experimenting with the placement of the first and third clips in the merge may be necessary to achieve the desired effect.
