Obama needs to push for HR676. Not this insurance company pandering bill that is out there now. Single payer works!! I have lived in Canada and we should be so lucky as to have their system. HR676. It's now or never. My dad is a doctor in the U.S. and my mother was a nurse for years. The health care system there is failing, wrong and simply unaffordable.

Too many people in US? Come on...the Canadian system is province-based (with Fed help)...we could have a regional system inthe US, if it were a problem...which it isn't, actually. It's not just Canada, it's also France (which is not 'mixed' system as Maher would tell you,but essentially single payer) the UK (real socialized medicine, docs work for fed govt), Australia, New Zealand and Japan..! And Taiwan since 1995..Taiwan looked all over the world and found US Medicare as a model..but they made it medicare for all..Corporate abuse, monopoly drug prices, drives costs up..Medicare overhead? 3% Private insur overhead? 20% or so!

"every 'westernized' country in the world has it" The problem? There's more people in the United States of America, then there is in many of those countries COMBINED. There's just too many goddamn PEOPLE. Put it this way. There is just as many people in the state of California (almost EXACTLY), as there is in the entire COUNTRY of Canada. See the problem people?
