Chess Challenge #1 - Play the Grandmaster! jrobichess - 5,106 views - 2 weeks ago
The general idea is for you to guess the moves in a grandmaster chess game. I am going to ask you to pause the video after every move black plays for you to take some time and think about what move the grandmaster played.

For every move you get right, you get a point. There will be bonus points throughout the video, and if you find a potential move that either maintains the advantage or improves the position, post a comment and that will count as a point as well. You can only get one point per move unless otherwise stated in the video.

I recommend you use a real chess set throughout the video, or chess software (without the chess engine running).

This video looks at a possible trapping line played by black in the Ruy Lopez Berlin Defence line. The trap offers up a free knight to the white player that has horrible consequences if taken. The video also explores possible lines to play if the bait is not taken.

Bobby Fischer's Visit to the Philippines 1973 with President Ferdinand Marcos nirocal - 1,612 views - 1 month ago
Photos of Bobby Fischer's visit to the Philippines in 1973, hosted by President Ferdinand Marcos, to open the International Chess Tournament. These came from albums that were a personal gift from Marcos himself to Fischer to commemorate his trip. Fischer abandoned a storage unit in Pasadena when he fled the United States, and these albums were part of his belongings left behind. Many of his chess memorabilia were in that storage and ended up in a local flea market in LA.

Fishing Pole: First Blood pt 1 sagacious... - 2,711 views - 6 months ago
Brian Wall is back for his fourth video! Brian's pet opening, the fishing pole, was played against GM Walter Browne by Francisco Baltier. Baltier has a habit of quoting Rambo when talking about his games so it was only natural to make this video with scenes from the movie Frist Blood.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =pnN9mqed3l0 is a video of the game and Walter's reaction when playing Re1.

Produced, Directed and Edited by Chris Peterson

Chess Position Practice #1: Candidate Moves jrobichess - 40,371 views - 1 year ago
This video series will focus on analyzing chess positions, and generating candidate move orders from the position without moving the pieces or using computer analysis. The goal is to improve the ability to generate lines and variations mentally during a game, and to try to come up with a move that either maintains equality on the board, or paves the way for a slight positional edge.

I recommend pausing the video at the appropriate time and generating your own candidate moves. If this is something new you are working on improving, it's recommended that you write down your lines and over time you will be able to do this all in your head during a match.

Chess videos by jrobichess.

To my knowledge I am the first person to begin playing chess and creating YouTube videos at the same time. My overall chess journey (things I have learned, rating improvements, etc) is all tracked here on these videos, both from what I posted and from comments and feedback from my subscribers.

I started chess in July 2007, and I have created a video history of my progress through YouTube! Follow along with my ups and downs as I work towards getting better at the great game of chess.

Technology has greatly helped my chess improve, and I hope you find that it can benefit you in the same way. I not only appreciate but invite your text and video comments to all my videos!

Chess is a lifelong journey - thanks for sharing it with me!

Do you have any videos about Checkmates.? Checkmate attacks, applying checkmates, or stopping checkmate attacks? If you don't could you make some? I do like the Trap Videos, but showing the same checkmates with other games together would very help.. thanks

Hey! What's the program you use to make these vids? Because I wanna make videos like these about chess, and not the ones you just film the real board, you know?

Can you please make a video on the Caro-Kann defence? It is a very interesting defence against e4. Also there is a line called the panov-botvinnik attack that white can use against the Caro-Kann defence that is very interesting and I have got to very interesting positions with this line.
Also thanx for the videos !

finchetto is when you move up your B or G pawn 1 square, and than place your bishop where your pawn was previously. this allows your bishop to get on its diagonal
