So this is my amv to Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. It's actually three things: 1) A video effects test. 2) A tribute. 3) An audition vid for Dilly Dally Studios.

I was personally overdue for making a solid trib for FF (the" 4 Questions" video I did a whiles back was actually was just a mini). Dilly Dally gave me the right kick in the pants when I got a message in the inbox saying they were holding auditions. I doubt this'll make the cut tho; not many tricks or effects used and part of that problem was there just wasn't enough time for me to figure some more out lol. The main thing is this is done and I like it enough to post it xD

FINAL HEARTS took around 49 hours to make and most of it was back-to-back due to the time crunch and just cuz I tend to lose track of time when I get into my "zone." Expect mistimings and other hiccups in the video. As mentioned, not a lotta time was spent on this and only the fact that I remembered which cinematics and trailers had good scenes is what helped me finish before the deadline =3

The special thanks to Kristyn and Meygan are for pointing me in the right direction to get good footage for this project (heh, there was no way I was going to play through each game again just to record footage). Everything else was up to me, my Lean Pockets, sushi, and cans of Dr. Pepper xP.

I wish I had more time to play FF but dam I'm like all over the place and always have something else to do lol. Thanks for commenting, rating, and wrting to me on this. Kudos to those who picked up the little nuances I put in the video such as Lightning making her entrance at 0:37 after the electrical sparks sizzling on the armor which looked like miniature lightning bolts ;) Glad even the smallest grains of my creativity put into this video gets noticed heh.

Before moving out of the south, my friends and I had a class with a certain art teacher. He was all for American cartoons and that's cool because I'm a fan of some American animation. Our teacher was especially a big fan of Disney and I admire their work also.

But this guy, he didn't like anime. That's fine, everyone's allowed to have an opinion. But he went on to us about the "weird" big eyes, the voices, the violence, the soap operas, the sexuality, the robots, the gore, the long scenes of nothing but landscape and sitting around...basically the style of Japanese animation altogether.

My friends and I looked at each other like WTF??? Class just started and already there was a problem lol! It really made us want to clown back at some of the things we found silly in American animation cuz his remark stung a bit; the three of us grew up watching anime. But we weren't gonna spend the next semester on this teacher's bad side either, so we got a hold of ourselves and just said, "Whatever." We were only gonna be there to get our A's, peace-out, and that's exactly what we did.

I'm not gonna be like that teacher and give u a list of the things I find weird or annoying about American animation.
BUT, I am hoping that this video (which shows some of the best of BOTH animation styles) will make him, and others like him, have respect for anime.

After all, hits such as Aeon Flux, Kill Bill, The Matrix ("The Animatrix"), Pitch Black ("Dark Fury"), Batman ("Gotham Knight"), and even celebs such as Britney Spears ("Break the Ice") and Linkin Park ("Breaking the Habbit") have ties to anime.

Anime has no limits: It can do all the movie genres, it can tell its stories without being held back, and—as you watched in the video—it can all be done masterfully.

I missed these two songs from Soul Edge so I decided to use them here. It puts an old twist on the new ;) I'm not surprised there are many sc videos with the first song here in youtube. When Soul Edge first came out on PS1 and that intro came on, I was like HELLZ YEAH!!! AMVs weren't that common back then so yeah it was dope.

Videos I used to make this tribute are from Soul Calibur II-IV and Soul Calibur Legends. The Soul Series is by Namco Bandai and Hiroaki Yotoriyama. "The Edge of Soul" and "Finding Our Way Home" were done by singer Suzi Kim and by composer Bentenmaru (KHAN) from back in 1996.
