In response to some people who think that America is just one big history of FAIL, you need to move some where else. Of course Americans have made mistakes, but without making concession for wrong, all countries have commited crimes. I for one love America because it's the land of opportunity. Go ahead and say I'm employing a skewed statistic, but all my relatives who have moved here to go on with their studies and gone on to medical careers, become interpreters, work in the military, computer systems analysts, and state college librarians. One other great thing about America: the people are nice. (ahemEuropeahem)

I really think that you should keep airing commentary on these things. Most filipino kids I know who go to the Philippines seem to be emotionally removed from the poverty and corruption, not too unlike myself.

Hey Jockway, I've seen a few of your videos and I like the way you present yourself. You may seem a bit judgemental or just opinionated at the least, but you seem to sincerely care about the people of your country. Furthermore it seems to me that you make an extra effort to be your own devil's advocate and try to see other viewpoints.

I'm an Philippine born, American-raised Filipina. I always felt excluded, but as far as I know (lol take your best shot freud) I attribute my sentiments toward the values and culture (that isn't necessarily owned as "Filipino") that I was raised with. I'm Catholic and I have always felt this tension between what American culture thought was healthy behavoir and what my parents always told and showed me to be true and right.

)might be old news already)Well Filipinos are a MIXED race--having indonesian, malaysian, spanish decents! However Philippines is part of Asia and we are similiar to Asian cultures have similiar dress, physical characteristics, traditions, even envrionment... Saying that Filipinos are similiar to Samoans, Chomoros(from Guam) or Hawaiins does not make sense b/c there is nothing similiar other than we live in the PACIFIC..but they theres Japan! and Taiwan but they are still considered Asian....We are NOT pacific islanders---however there are alot (which is striking) of Philippines who believe we are pacific islanders.....I don't want to say they're stupid...but gee its hard not too. and just to add when you take Asian studies in college courses Philippines are one of those countries :)
