This is a scratchbuilt model based on the design of the default ship in the old home computer game 'Elite'. That's home computer because when this game first came along, personal computers as a term was yet to fully exist. The original game came along in 1985 on machines like the BBC model B and so on.

Since spawed two sequel games, Frontier and Frontier First Encounters as well as a host of clones, the current best being a freeware one called Oolite which can be downloaded from http://oolite.aegidian.org/
