"Nine Pound Hammer", "Cripple Creek"(?) instrumental, and "Little Cabin Home" are performed by Frank Wing And Friends as the final, and very shortened, set of the day at the Warriors Path State Park summer "Folk Life Festival" on Saturday, 25 July2009. The set was cut short by the arrival of a squall line thunderstorm just after 8 PM and the "friends" were never formally introduced. It had been a beautiful sunny summer day until near 8 PM. Notice how rapidly it becomes dark and gusty during the last song (well before sunset).
Frank Wing is on banjo and is a retired biology teacher (Kingsport) who now teaches individual instruction in the ETSU Bluegrass Program and performs with the Irish/Celtic band "Sigean". The lead vocals and guitar are provided by Audey Ratliff who is a multi-talented musician (Tennessee Skyline) and luthier (Ratliff Mandolins). The bass is being played by Janice McCombs who usually seen on bass with Fall Creek Band. I have no information on the other musician "friends".
This set concluded the music series of Warriors Path State Park "Folk Life Festival". As a part of the one-day activities the Park hosted an old time, bluegrass, and country music series of performances with different groups starting 11 AM with the last performance at 8 PM.
