I drove my 18 wheeler across the USA, was a craps dealer for the Las Vegas Hilton, started a graphics business in Czechoslovakia, had a company that painted wild space scenes in the Circus-Circus Casino, owned a clinic in Brazil, owned and ran several nationally accredited adult education schools. I installed computer network, wrote curriculums, and taught classes for the Las Vegas Community College.

I rode the zip-lines in Costa Rica, the hang gliders in Rio de Janeiro, dune buggies in Brazil, and I slalom water-ski, do in-line skating and lots more. I always remember the metaphor of "surfing" life, from my best teacher (Dr. Fernando Flores) We can live and be effective in this modern world. We can't control the great forces in life, but we can learn to surf among them.
