Thanks for the great interview. I met Russ in the fifties while stationed at Mather AFB, before he opened his first store in Sacramentro, and all he had was a record counter in the Tower Drug Store. He built quite an empire, and It is really sad to see the business go down. I believe that, in the long run, many of his assumptions about downloading will prove to be correct. A wise man once said that "there is no such thing as a free lunch." Personally, I have found that, in business especially, this is a true statement. My wife and I moved back east in 1957 and I have not seen Russ since. I wish Russ good health, good luck, and all the best in his future endeavors.
Sincerely, Walt Barrett |
