In this uncertain economy, where communication skills are paramount to either retaining the position you have or helping you land a scarce new one, wouldn't it be great to have the skills to speak like Barack Obama?

Unlike many other human endeavors, speaking well is NOT something to which one must be born. Rather, it's a matter or learning a set of new behaviors (and letting go of a few old ones) and then applying those new behaviors every time you speak.

If you feel either uncomfortable or ineffective when you speak - the two are well connected - it's because you've been engaging and developing counterproductive behaviors from as long ago as your first stand-up book report in grade school.

PublicSpeakingSkills.com has successfully trained tens of thousands of speakers from all walks of life since 1995, through in-house corporate workshops, one-on-one executive training, large-group lectures and award-winning DVD's.

Dear Shadow-
Actually, practice doesn't make perfect - practice makes permanent. If you practice the wrong techniques, you will acquire them but they maybe wrong. This is true of most speakers. What you want to do is first learn what it takes to be perfect - or close to it - and then practice those techniques until you become permanently perfect!

The thing I truly hate about PS is that practice makes perfect- you have to do it in order to get over the fear of doing it. Thank you for the precise and humorous tutorial.
