Finally ,thank god the Jamaican people have matured,politically. I believe cable tv and the internet has played a great part. They see how things are going worldwide. Back in the 1960s and 70s every time you turn around there was a riot ,the two Chinese riots in the 60s ,where jamaican Chinese were attacked and their businesses looted and burnt ,the Rodney riot in 1968 where the city of Kingston was paralised for days. I am glad we have past that stage ,because the people who do the rioting suffer more than than the persons who the damage is afflicted on----lost of jobs for many when places are burnt down,lost of delivery of goods and services etc. I mention this because I believe there were some who were hoping for disturbances when the Government came out with the budget over a month ago. I am glad it did'nt happen. We have matured.

The next thing is Caricom, Bruce Golding ,rightly so, has put his foot down on Caricom because its not benefitting Jamaica. They hardly buy anything from us. We buy rice from Guyana ,multiple products from Trinidad but they buy hardly anything from us . Trinidad would not even give us a break on LNG , they sold it to us for the same price they sold anybody else. It took Brazil to help us out . The fact is Caricom dont give a hoot about Jamaica,they are just looking out for themselves. They liked P.J Patterson,however,they just gave him an award,because he sold out jamaica's interest. Good ,Trinidad wanted to buy Air Jamaica but lost the bid,they have lots of money from oil.how come they dont help jamaica. Carry on Bruce,you can see through their S....t.

Gleaner reports today that Air Jamaica has been sold to Spirit Airlines with the Jamaican Government having being a small shareholder. The report also said the name will be changed to "spirit of jamaica". Also for the first time in 10 years Air Jamaica has made a profit. If all this is true this is good news for Jamaica. All the millions and millions of dollars in government subsidy can now go to roads ,schools,hospitals, etc. Air Jamaica was draining the treasury. I am sorry to see it go too but we have to be practical,we could not afford to sustain it. I have to admire the JLP government,they are very disciplined and know how to govern.

I was in Jamaica last week and I must say I was pleasantly surprised by one very positive development. Folks, driving in from the airport, through the streets of kingston , through downtown and uptown I could not put my figure on what it is was different about the city. Then it hit me. The streets of kingston are clean. Yes no major piles of garbage on the street corners. Kingston is the freshest I have ever seen it. The road leading from the airport use to be a major eye sore the government has done a good job of cleaning it up creating a strong first impression of a city that is on the upswing. But even the backroads are clean and it is not just kingston. I drove to St Thomas and I have never seen St Thomas looking so tidy. Whatever else is going on good job JLP on this front. Good job.

I believe some of the PNP leadership is calling for an end to the by-election,according to the Gleaner today. Also read the Observer editorial today,look what they say about the pnp. Also Mark Wignall's column in the Observer today,lash out at the PNP and Portia.

So Peter Bunting of the Pnp have been making some strong comments on his Facebook page lashing out at the party leader Portia Simpson Miller! You guys should take a read at his page before he removes it. Dont he think that we wouldnt see his thoughts posted! ? Looks like he want the leadership positions and get rid of MAMMA P!!! LOL!
