Top view of Linville Falls along the Blue Ridge Parkway (NC mile 316.5)

The first overlook, often called "Balcony View" or "Upper Falls View", but not formally named, can be reached by traveling .5 of a mile along the Erwin's View Trail. It displays a gorgeous view of the smaller, upper falls and a glimpse of the lower falls as the water flows out of sight. You can begin to see where the river has slowly worn away the rocks over time. (less info)
