Secondly - I have to be honest and say that I'm just winding you up, I do enjoy a good argument on the internet and I DO NOT mean you any malice. Modern English, my friend. Look it up. Remember, we're chatting, at least, typing as if we're talking. We're not writing a book here, but even then, most authors use "ALOT", because it is MODERN english. Now, if we still lived in the medieval days, or perhaps where you appear to be from (Which I consider to be the TRUE english; Not this American gibberish that they've created), then alot would be a lot. Again, the reason modern english has changed it, is because a lot could be consider a lot- as in a parking stall, or perhaps an area of ownership, or space.

Are you aware that there is no such word as ALOT? I think you meam A LOT (it's two words). Who's making a fool out of themselves?
