I have setup this channel to warn visitors and indeed residents of the dangers on the Isle of Wight and I hope it will shame the council here into taking action to ensure the safety of the public rather than merely stating that a problem does not exist.
There have been avoidable deaths on the Islands beaches in recent years and it is my hope that highlighting these problems publicly here will prompt this council to take affirmative action to ensure the safety of the public and that further tragic consequences can be avoided.
About Me:

I am an Island resident who like many others here are fed up with the attitude of this council.
Their reputation could hardly be worse following the high profile suspensions and sackings of many of the leading figures due to their dubious practices with regard to awarding contracts.
I have found it necessary to remain anonymous due to fears of repercussions by them should I make my identity known.

hello, i live on the island too. i wondered if you knew that the south side of the island was featured in private eye magazine due to its large outlet of radon gas. radon gas can kill over time and cause cancer and even hallucinations. i don't know wether this problem is one to be solved as the gas is everywhere and "niton" is even the old english word for radon so its been here a long time, but never the less i think people may want to know so i thought id mention it. cheers

It is time for the people to have their tv set without having to pay a license fee for a device that has been paid already.
Void the license fee!

I couldn't agree more about the golf-balls, a real hazard.
The problem is not just confined to Ladies Walk either I had one miss my head by about three inches at Appley park earlier today.
Once again this is a public park given to the people of Ryde for their use as a Recreation area and due to the council running a Pitch & Putt you take your life in your hands just using the perimeter pathway as I was.
I will have to consider making a video about it.

I have used "Ladies Walk" for the last 40 years. I must admit, I never knew that the use of bicycles is prohibited, and indeed have had a few near misses with them. Low flying golf balls are usually my main worry. Good work on highlighting that blind corner.
