"Aloha. To keep things simple and cheap use regular Portland cement. White cement works too but it is more expensive and has no advantage :-)"

"Also, I'll be starting a 120gal Saltwater tank and was wondering what you
recommend as to what to order. I've been watching your videos and love them all.
I have a nice Diatom bloom going so that's why I want the Nano Lagoon Grazer
Pack for the smaller tank. Hope to hear from you and keep up the the great and
awesome job." From Esteban C., Merced, CA, 12/26/09

Sure, the cycling will work as long as the water is at room temp or above. The higher the temp (within the range of the bacteria's viability, that is)
the faster the cycle. The lower the temp the slower the cycle. Main thing is to look for the visual cues (cloudiness) that confirm the bacteria are
blooming. And you need a source of diatom inoculation as well to make sure that cycle kicks off after the bacterial population has crashed, as
evidenced by a sudden clarity of the water.

Hi, I have a question that I can't seem to find the answer to. I'm just curious about what's needed in terms of temperature to start a tank cycle? As you know I started a second tank, but the heaters are in the mail and I was wondering if I could start the nitrogen cycle without heaters using some cocktail shrimp?
Thanks.

Yes, adjust your flow rate so that your corals are receiving enough water to move the polyps constantly but not so much that the soft tissues are being stripped away. This is something you need to determine for your own particular system. You can add a fish to the 10-gallon Nano Lagoon, such as a captive-bred Ocellaris clown. But it is intended primarily to be an entry-level soft coral and invert tank which functions with minimal maintenance.

Sorry I forgot to ask one more question. Can the Nano Lagoon system also house fish? or only soft coral and inverts?

Hello
Your Nano Lagoon Reef Tank Aquarium Videos really helped and inspired me to start one of my own. I just have a few questions about filtration and circulation. I am thinking about adding a 50 or 70 gallon aquaclear filter to the aquarium (the flow rate is modified down of course) and use it as a refugium for macro algae. I also currently have a Hydor Koralia Nano - 256 GPH at hand. What is the desired water circulation or flow rate.

Thank you ipsf for posting your video series!! I have followed your recommendations exactly and my Nano Lagoon looks fantastic. It is now about 3 months old and I have stocked it with the organisms you recommended and with some hardy soft corals -- all captive bred specimens. I have not done any water changes either.
