Since 1971 Introdans has grown into a top dance company. With a healthy dose of ambition, the company remains true to its mission to present high quality dance to a broad public. Since 2009 Introdans has been designated part of the basic national infrastructure of the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. With the Canon of Introdans™, the two dance ensembles present a varied and attractive modern ballet repertoire. As the city of Arnhems flagship company, Introdans performs in theatres throughout the Netherlands and travels the world: both ensembles are frequent guests on international stages. H.R.H. Princess Margriet of the Netherlands is the Patroness of Introdans.
Introdans presents modern ballet performances on the themes Old masters, Contemporary partners, New talent. Various choreographers create ballets for Introdans which combine classical elements and modern techniques.
Introdans Ensemble for Youth presents its repertoire selected from the Introdans Treasure Chest™, including work especially created for the ensemble. Introdans Ensemble for Youth occupies a unique position in Europe, being the only dance company in the continent to present modern ballet performances for children.
Introdans Interaction works in schools and in many other environments, serving both young and old. The department provides a broad range of educational activities, day projects, interactive workshops and opportunities to look behind the scenes all linked to the themes contained in the repertoire of both ensembles. Introdans Interaction also organises inspirational days for teachers and in-depth sessions for elderly persons as well as introductions and after-show discussions.
