Josephine Yang, 17, studies piano with Dr. Baruch Meir. She has been recognized with many honors and awards, including first place at the 2009 Schimmel/AZ Piano Young Artist Concerto Competition Senior Division with two movements from Rachmaninoffs first concerto, two-time Arizona State Representative at the 2007 and 2009 MTNA Senior Performance Competitions, 2009 Div. III winner of the AZ Musicfest Young Musicians Competition, and a finalist in the concerto and sonata divisions of the 14th Annual World Piano Pedagogy Conference Most Wanted Competition.. She attended the Adamant Music School Traditional Session in 2008 on scholarship and Music Fest Perugia in 2009, where she performed Haydn's Concerto in D Major with a chamber orchestra in Italys renowned Basilica di San Pietro. Josephine is also an award-winning violinist and writer and performs with the Phantasie Ensemble, which she co-founded in 2004. She is an accomplished honors student at Desert Vista High School and is an active member of her community.
