Singer Rihanna is breaking her silence about the night then-boyfriend Chris Brown beat her, telling Diane Sawyer that he had "no soul in his eyes." Share "It wasn't the same person that says I love you. It was not those... eyes," she told Sawyer in an exclusive interview. "He had ... no soul in his eyes. Just blank. ...He was clearly blacked out. There was no person when I looked at him." The February 2009 assault left the 21-year-old battered and bruised, and Brown was sentenced to five years of probation, community labor, and one year of domestic-violence counseling. "All I kept thinking all the time: When is it going to stop? When it is going to stop?" she said. After the attack, Rihanna briefly reunited with Brown, but said that she never forgave him. Throwing elbows, punching in the back, tripping, hair pulling, kicking into someone's face and sucker punches? Sounds like a typical scrum between young siblings. Well, in the 2009 MWN semifinal match between BYU and New Mexico, there was no lipstick, no perfume and no fingernail polish. There was, however, good old fashioned chick fighting. Check out the BYU's Kassidy Shumway (21) getting her bell rung (or neck snapped) by New Mexico's Elizabeth Lambert (15). I loved a good chick fight as much as the next guy, but c'mon. He had no soul in his eyes, Rihanna said of Browns state of mind during the attack. He was clearly blacked out. There was no person when I looked at him. Rihanna says the deeper the two best friends fell in love, the more dangerous they became for each other equally. It was a bit of an obsession. She says the night before the Grammys when the two were driving back to her house after attending Clive Davis party turned ugly because she saw a text message from another woman on his phone and she caught him in a lie. I couldnt take that he kept lying to me and he couldnt take that I wouldnt drop it. His back was up against the wall. The truth is right here in a text message. It escalated into him being violent towards me. As hard as it appeared for Rihanna to think back to the night, that she says was not part of my plan, she admits she still loves Chris. I dont hate him at all. I actually love and care about him, and Im concerned about him doing well. I want him to do well, have a great career, have a great life, and grow up.
