When her supporters were asked broad questions about why they why they thought she should be president, the responses were vague: She's "real." She'll "stick up for America." It has been said comments that you would find similarly talking point-driven, substance-less supporters at an Obama rally, and we agree. But no politician has emerged on the national stage as undefined and unqualified as Sarah Palin, and her public persona--which is anti-intellectual by definition--discourages substance. Instead, we get winking. One could hardly imagine her giving a complex speech about race in America, or speaking eloquently about our country's relations with Islam. Not just because she couldn't write such a speech (Obama has speech-writers, of course) but because she wouldn't--such necessarily academic discussion is antithetical to the persona she's created for herself and that her supporters have come to love. "Quest for the Normandy Nessie Monster" Madeira Beach, FL - In October, a man reported seeing an unexplained creature (estimated at 20 feet long) swimming in the canal behind his house. Since then, he reported seeing the mysterious animal 3 times in this month of November. In order to shed some light on the mystery, the man purchased a surveillance system which enabled him to monitor & record video of the canal. Several times, he captured something large swimming in the water. Experts who have seen the footage conclude that the best explanation is that it's a manatee. Is it a manatee? Could it be an exotic snake that isn't indigenous to these waters? Or could it even be a snake with a slight mutation? I didn't expect to find any answers whatsoever over a 5 hour period, but I wanted to see this area for myself since it's such a unique news event. On November 20, 2009, I set out from Orlando to Madeira Beach in order to hopefully catch a glimpse of something swimming out in the canal. This is a 3-part video where I try to find my own answers to these questions. If you don't know who I am, I'm a Real-Time Strategy gamer, but I've recently made a new channel in order to release my new series of 'Adventure' videos. I'm not an animal expert by any means.
