hey everyone!! many of you know that my family likes to vacation in destin, fl. whenever i go i try to get a facial at the slender smith day spa. i get asked so many questions about what goes on during a facial. so i decided to bring you guys along on one!

REMEMBER- the holidays are coming up.. and most spas give gift cards. so maybe ask for a facial from friends or family. you won't be disappointed!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: how often should i get a facial?
A: most people recommend every 4-6 weeks. but who really has the time or money for that?! in reality, any facial you get is going to help your skins over all appearance. even just 1 a year!
Q: how much money are facials?
A: a facial is a way to pamper yourself. and it isn't cheap! but most facials range anywhere from $45-$200.
Q: who will do my facial?
A: a licensed aesthetician. you will probably form a bond with whoever does yours and go back to the same person over and over again. if you don't like the person who did yours.. don't be scared to ask to switch the next time- or try out a different spa! change is good.
Q: do i really need a facial?
A: i recommend it. and most anyone who has ever had a facial will too!
Q: what's extracting?!
A: basically- she is "picking" all of the blackheads out of your skin for you... and she'll get some acne areas too!
Q: will my skin look perfect right after a facial?
A: NO! it will take a few days to clear up.. but then it will look and feel better than ever.
Q: is it okay to ask for extracting?
A: yes! when i first went in i was scared to make heather extract. i mean really? i didn't want to make her pick at my face. but then she asked me if i like to pick at my own face. when i replied yes she said, okay.. i do too! it kinda bums me out when someone says they don't want it! from then on i have had her extract!
Q: wait, so what's the dermawand? or "zapper"?
A: not all spas will use this on your skin, but some will. it basically just sends electric impulses through your skin to bring bacteria to a head so that it leaves your skin. your face will most likely break out from this at first... but then the bacteria that causes the breakouts will be gone!
Q: is it relaxing?
A: yes! most of the time there will be soft music playing and the lights will be dimmed. the aesthetician probably won't talk much (mine did for the sake of the video!) but you will most likely fall into a soft sleep.
Q: how much do i tip my aesthetician?
A: normally it's 15-20%
