I play the Panart Hang and the HALO from Pantheon Steel. The Hang is a new instrument developed in the year 2000 by two Swiss artists, Felix Rohner and Sabina Scharer. It combines the world of hand percussion with the art of steel pan into one, synergistic form. Now, a rhythm artist can play both rhythm and melody simultaneously. The Hang's warm overtones were achieved through years of experimentation by the Hang creators, and is not easily duplicated. It's sound has entranced me for over two years now....... ;)

The HALO, from Pantheon Steel, was created by Kyle Cox and Jim Dusin of Pantheon Steel. The HALO is an instrument inspired by the PANArt Hang. Though quite similar, it has distinctive characteristics that separate it from the Hang. It has a much deeper register, and a different tonality than the Hang. The HALO is a bit bigger and heavier than the Hang as well. However, in my opinion, the HALO produces deeper, richer tones and jsut as much "magic" as the Hang.

I look forward to creating more music with the HALO and Hang in the future.
