Each year, the Iowa Lottery raises tens of millions of dollars that have created opportunities for Iowans. Since its inception in August, 1985, more than $1.3 billion dollars in Lottery proceeds have funded a variety of significant projects, including help for our veterans, Vision Iowa and assistance to the Iowa Gambling Treatment Program. Lottery players have won prizes totaling more than $2.8 billion during that same time.
