Quick announcement: You will need to make a livejournal. You may not ever use it again, and may just ignore it after bigbang, but it's gonna be needed for sign-ups and contact between fanmixer/vidder/artist and the writer. :D

~ The goal is to write a 10,000 word HSM fic. Those who complete this challenge on time (August 31) will be rewarded with a fanart/fanmix/fanvid made especially for their fic. 10,000 words is the minimum requirement, but if you want to write more, you're more than welcome and encouraged to.

~Stories can be het, gen, or slash. Crossovers with other fandoms are permitted, but the main focus and/or pairing must be High School Musical. The central pairing of your story must be between HSM characters. Chad/Ryan is awesome, so is Troy/Gabriella or Taylor/Sharpay. It can even have a background pairing from another fandom if you are so inclined. RPF/S is acceptable if the fic is AU. Otherwise, work with fictional characters. What makes HSM so wonderful to write for is that all the characters are, for all intents and purposes, stock characters.

~Co-writing is absolutely allowed, but the collaborative wordcount minimum is still 10,000 words.

~Signups for writers open on May 2nd and close on June 1st at midnight EST. If you decide you're up to the challenge after signups are closed, please email a mod to discuss it.

~ Signups for fanmixers/artists/vidders open on (still being decided) and remain open until mid-August. Writers may sign up to be fanmixers/artists/vidders, but non-writers will be given priority when fic summaries are tentatively claimed by fanmixers/artists/vidders in early September.

~On August 31, the completed fic must be emailed to the mods so that it can be assigned to a fanmixers/artists/vidders. This version of the fic does not have to be the betaed, edited polished, completely final form, but it must have already reached 10,000 words so that we know that we can accurately assign you to the fanmixers/artists/vidders, and so that the fanmixers/artists/vidders more or less has your finished fic to literally draw from. You have about a month from August 31 to have your fic betaed and edited, if it hasn't been done already. All fics *must* be beta-ed and edited. We don't want you to spend all this time on a wonderful plot and have it marred because its riddled with typos and poor grammar. During this month, the fanmixers/artists/vidders have to create a mix/art/video.

~On September 30, all final fics and all fanmixes/art/videos are due, and we will begin posting on October 12.

~No story can be submitted for this challenge that has previously appeared in any form or in any part online prior to the posting date - nothing already in progress (like part 1/?, 2/?, et cetera have already been posted).

~Unlike most traditional Big Bang challenges, we do not have mandatory prompts. You may write any idea you wish (within the parameters), but optional prompts will be posted here (which you are encouraged to add to) for those who prefer more structured challenges or need an idea to work off.

~This isn't a fic exchange. Its a challenge: no pressure about recipients or pinch-hitting. If you're interested in signing up but are worried about not being able to complete the challenge, pulling out at any point before the June 1 deadline is okay, no pressure, no wrath from mods, no going insane on your part if life becomes hectic and you cant finish. Life happens, we all know this. No worries.

~The fanmix you create should be between 12 and 20 songs (the length of a CD). Please do not include more than one song from the movie trilogy and no more than one song by any of the singers in the trilogy. For example, if you include "Celebrate You" by Corbin Bleu, then you cannot include "Get Your Ass On" by Lucus Grabeel, but you can include "We're All in this Together". We want diversity here. We already know that HSM has a soundtrack for each movie; we want new, exciting mixes that fit the theme of the fic.

Alright, don't even ask how I got the premise for this. One day I read a Pete/Patrick kid!fic and the rest is history. The adorable just killed me.

Anyhoo. When finished I expect this to be around... 10,000-15,000 words long. Not much, but I'll be proud of it.

Anyway. Moving on to what the story is ABOUT. This COULD be considered a continuation of Smile For The World, but most likely only in my head. (SFTW: http://isawayorkiepoo.livejour nal.com/16768.html)

In the story, Miley finds herself pregnant even though she's never gone outside her relationship with Lilly. Not only does she have to deal with the impending baby, but has to deal with her professional life screwing with it.

Of course she doesn't know the father. Tabloids and fans wouldn't react well to that. She ends up telling Lilly, but it doesn't bode well.

In the end, Miley has to figure out her relationship with Lilly and her relationship with the press; is it stable enough? is it a good place for a child to be raised? can she *handle* the responsibility? will her career get in the way?

The whole thing is a big block of angst with a couple schmoopy, smutty, funny moments thrown in. I'm trying to keep the girls *in character* as much as possible, but with the way the plot turns? I'll try. :D

Okay, song in the video is '30 Minut' by t.A.T.u. I take the title of the story from the English version '30 Minutes'. The sound clip at the end, asking Hannah if she's pregnant is from the Ellen show, when she had Ashlee Simpson on there. (yes, I'm a PWentz fan AND an Ashlee fan) The video of two girls kissing (yea, those are both girls xD) is from The L Word, it's Bette and Tina.

FF.net has been clogged with Jonas fic for TOO LONG. These stories violate the terms and conditions EVERY AUTHOR AGREES TO.

Since creating my new account (http://www.fanfiction.net/~is awayorkiepoo) I have made sure to follow EVERY GUIDELINE to a t. Others have not. From the guidelines, this is what we ALL agree to:

"Entries not allowed: 1. Non-stories: lists, bloopers, polls, previews, challenges, author notes, and etc.
2. One or two liners.
3. MST: comments inserted in between the flow of a copied story.
4. Stories with non-historical and non-fictional characters: actors, musicians, and etc.
5. Any form of interactive entry: choose your adventure, second person/you based, Q&As, and etc.

Now I'll be honest with you, I read AND write Jonas fic. But I don't post on ff.net. I find alternatives (and there are tons. quizilla, mibba, lj etc...) and post my RPF over there.

And I want to read Jonas fic. Just not on ff.net. Every time a person posts a RPF story, ff.net is facing the possibility of a lawsuit. (that includes ZANESSA AND ZASHLEY STORIES PEOPLE!)

But with LJ, as long as we put a disclaimer, there's no problem with it.

Made specifically for Jonas writers, with Jonas mood themes and a Jonas layout (no more blank white pages and black font) writers no longer run the risk of being flamed or even having their story reported and deleted.

I hope we can have a wide variety of writers. PREFERABLY (but not mandatory) I'd like each story to be original. ("I went to see a JB concert and we fell in love" is not original). Perhaps instead of centering on a pairing, center it on their career or their own internal issues. They may seem perfect, but it's more like they're perfect for angst filled stories. And I thrive on angst, so that's good!
