Horses for Clean Water, now in its 10th year, offers ways to care for horses that improves the farm they live on and reduces non-point pollution. Techniques such as mud management and composting manure offer a way to care for animals that benefit the animals, the farm, the owner, the community and the environment - all win-win-win solutions.
About Me:

Alayne, a life-long equestrian, is passionate about horses as she is about the environment. She and her husband live outside of Seattle, WA (USA) where they raise AQHA horses on their 10-acre farm and compete in reining events. Alayne is the creator and director of Horses for Clean Water. Alayne has MA in Public Visual Communications and a BA in psychology and natural sciences, with post-graduate work in photography and educational technology. She's been an environmental educator working with livestock owners for over 15 years and is a contributing writer for national and regional horse publications including John Lyons' The Perfect Horse, Equus and Northwest HorseSource. She speaks and does presentations for a national audience including natural resource agencies, horse groups and individuals across the country.
