Our Global Mission
We are publishers of a quarterly spiritual magazine which connects all Hindu traditions and lineages around the world. Hinduism Today was founded January 5, 1979, by Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami. It is a nonprofit educational activity of Himalayan Academy with the following purposes: 1. To foster Hindu solidarity as a unity in diversity among all sects and lineages
2. To inform and inspire Hindus worldwide and people interested in Hinduism
3. To dispel myths, illusions and misinformation about Hinduism
4. To protect, preserve and promote the sacred Vedas and the Hindu religion
5. To nurture and monitor the ongoing spiritual Hindu renaissance
6. To publish a resource for Hindu leaders and educators who promote Sanatana Dharma

This graphically stunning journal records the modern history of a billion-strong global religion in renaissance, focusing on the faith's culture, arts, festivals, temples, scripture, ashrams, spiritual leaders and yogic practices. It is produced by a small team of passionate people, guided by the initiated swamis, yogis and monks of Kauai's Hindu Monastery. We welcome writers, artists, designers, photographers, researchers, commentators, marketing experts and financial contributors.

We also publish a daily Hindu news aggregation service called Hindu Press International, translate ancient scriptures into modern English, develop educational tools and resources, commission traditional religious art, design books and websites and support a multitude of worthy Hindu initiatives. Hinduism Today has become a key resource for Hindu communities and individuals in over 80 countries, and more who read our free, online digital edition. There are many ways you can contribute.
