Okay, there have been a bunch of vlogs on this by some pretty smart and well intentioned people talking about Japan and what "the Japanese" think. In spite of the strong tendency amongst many foreigners, Japan academics, and even amongst "the Japanese" themselves to make broad statements about what all 120 million people in Japan think, do and are like, my experience of Japan brings my back to the conclusion that Japanese are in fact human beings, just like the rest of us. People throwing around statistics, history and experience to support assertions made to the contrary generally irritate me.

本日相撲を見に行きました。楽しかったよ～！
ただ、多くの人は楽しい見方の秘密を気づいていないと思ったとこ ろでこのビデオを作りました。
たとえば、こんな事を知っていますかね：
１）貧乏な人でも、朝から行ったら末席からでも相撲が楽しめる
２）12時から４時まで、200円で日本の一番おいしいちゃんこ が食べれる
とか、色々、今日の一番注目の取り組みを自分のへんてこな解説も つけていますので楽しんで見てください！

Hey everyone, sorry no subitiles here (I wanted to get this up fast) but let me talk you through the vid. It is a guide to the most fun way to spend a day at the sumo. Key points are, as covered in the video
1) Get there early, so you can sit on the cushions at the very front before the ticket holders arrive (they allow this)
2) Between 12 and 4, join the mysterious line of Japanese people at the back on the ground floor. Not many gaijins seem to know that for 200 yen (2 bucks), you can get the best "chanko" (sumo wrestler food) anywhere in Japan.
3) Remember to buy some sake, some yakitori, a bento of your favorite wrestler, and a box of sumo wrestler chocolates to take back and share with and brag about to your coworkers and friends.
All in Japanese, but the second half is filled with actual bouts. I'll make a special bonus of the Ama match with subtitles later this week.
