Welcome to my YouTube page! As I have time I intend to place videos of my live performances and some unique blues harmonica lessons for YouTube viewers!
LESSON MATERIAL
I author (over 60 now) books, CDs and DVDs for Mel Bay Publications (http://www.harmonicamastercla ss.com/books.htm), write articles for Blues Revue Magazine (http://www.bluesrevue.com/) and HarmonicaSessions.com as well as a free monthly newsletter (http://www.harmonicamastercla ss.com/mailing.htm) for the Harmonica Masterclass Workshop (my company).

WORKSHOPS & PRIVATE TEACHING
I teach Harmonica Masterclass Workshops (http://www.harmonicamastercla ss.com/HMW.htm) around the world for intermediate and advanced harmonica players. I teach private lessons (50+ full-time students) at my School of the Blues in San Jose California (http://www.schooloftheblues.c om/).

I am interested in anything regarding blues, especially blues harmonica!

RECORDINGS
I play with various artists depending on the project. The album "Serious Fun" featured John Garcia (Vocals & Guitar), Steve Czarnecki (Organ), Steve Lucky (Piano), Randy Bermudes (Bass) and Paul Revelli (Drums). This album features a wide variety of blues harmonica... all original compositions.

"We Are The Blues" was a joint project with the Monterey Bay Blues Festival and features the School of the Blues All-Star Band playing our versions of some of the greatest cover tunes ever. Artists are: John Garcia (Vocals & Guitar), David Barrett/Me (Harmonica), Steve Czarnecki (Organ & Piano), Frank De Rose (Bass) and Kevin Coggins (Drums). This is a great example of blues harmonica accompaniment playing (and I of course play a lot of solos in multiple positions).

New projects to be released are the "History of the Blues Harmonica Concert" featuring myself with Joe Filisko, Kinya Pollard and Dennis Gruenling (along with special guests Michael Peloquin, Rusty Zinn and more).

Gary Smith and I are also producing the "West Coast Blues Harmonica Superharps" show and recording. This recording will feature new original music with tons of harmonica interaction (heads, hooks, harmonies, battles, etc.).

David,

Just a note to let you know that I read your newsletter and study your transcriptions thoroughly. The Gary Smith "Minor Mambo" is amazing. Please put up more advanced stuff like that. I can also play Musselwhite's "River Hip Mama" perfectly thanks to your (out of print) transcriptions which I consider the most valuable learning materials I have.

I learned most of what I know from you.

I love you, man.
