One man's quest for Design stardom. No challenge is too big, dangerous or illegal for Marque and his trusty crew of "Art Commandos" when they set out to get their TV show made and broadcast
- by any means nessesary.

The line between what's trash and what's treasure blurs and then
vanishes entirely in this original and entertaining 5 minute

Self Portrait Avatars on the Xbox 360-Godfather, Saints Row h2oboy1 - 2,600 views - 1 year ago
The self portrait as a distinct art genre can be used as a guide - a thematic constant against which a larger world view can be observed. The evolution of artist's tools and techniques, as well as changes in social, political and cultural views of the world can be traced through the history of self portraits, from the earliest cave paintings through contemporary practices.

These pieces are self portrait performances executed in virtual space within various games available on the Xbox 360 game console. The artist's avatar, performance, and all other elements were created using the "character creation" tools provided within each game. There was no use of hacking, programing, or other methods beyond the options provided within the game itself used to augment each piece. The inherent limitations of the game tools present a conceptual challenge to craft and perform digital representations of the self - with behaviors and actions - which reflect the true nature of the artist's personae, vs. the essentialized, violent male character presumed by the game's designers.

The Marque Machine 2 h2oboy1 - 1,306 views - 2 years ago
The Marque Machine is a self-portrait sculpture made from found objects, scavenged materials, and antiquated technology.

The pedistal is a wooden monolith found outside an artist studio. Inside of the retangular plexiglass box resides a video monitor submerged in clear liquid and playing a video loop of the artist's eyes. The deep meditative chanting of Tibetan Kyoto Monks can be heard quietly eminating from the piece. Seemingly defying logic, the submerged monitor operates without any interferance from the bubbling fluid.

The material nature of the sculpture conjures images of a machine-human hybrid - a being with both organic and mechinical qualities. This hybrid entity is made all the more uncanny by the way it serenely gazes back at the observer, creating a dynamic non-verbal dialogue between the sculpture and the viewer.

Interactive Kinetic Steampunk Sculptures by Marque Cornblatt h2oboy1 - 18,425 views - 3 years ago
For centuries the use of tools by humans has been used as a marker - one of several gauges of that particular quality that define humans as unique and self-aware beings. Over the millennia, the development and use of certain tools has effected the quality of life so profoundly, that one can scarcely imagine life without their use. Language, social structures, medicine, electricity, mass communication.

There exists in our culture the promise of technological solutions to every need, problem and issue associated with the human condition, from the basic needs of food and shelter, to more sophisticated requirements of the human animal - fast food, financial credit, internet dating, artificial hearts, and MTV. Attempts to meet these needs with technology comes in a variety of forms - from AT & T providing lengthy and complex exchanges of information without the customer ever speaking with a live operator, to computer controlled medical implants monitoring and performing an increasing number of metabolic and physiological functions in the human body.

The conceptual cornerstones of "that which makes humans unique" continue to be challenged and defeated. Internally, in the case of medical advancements, and externally - as demonstrated by the increasing number of "human" interactions which no longer have two humans participating. Identity and self-awareness are no longer the exclusive terrain of human beings. We live in the age of the "transhuman" being.

The Seegers Family Edifice Venture is a documentary of a family that is turning an old church camp activities center into their future home. One of their goals is to show practical construction methods that will turn this building into an efficient green dwelling.

I really enjoyed watching the videos and promoted some of them through my myspace page. I hope that you guys are able to really inspire & motivate. I have written quite a few blogs regarding my adventures in dumpster diving and the process of giving objects dead to others a new life. My last journey to the dumpsters out by Priest Lake I managed to score an entire box of various sized ice skates in awesome shape and quite a bit of vintage fabric, oh yeah, and a spare mountain bike front tire(i always bring tools) nabbed the seat too...seems to run in the family, my mom does junk art & recycles tons too. do you have a Gomi Myspace page as well?~peace, Muddy
