We're looking for a few friends and fans from around the world to help us form the future Smithsonian experience. A revolutionary Web and New Media Strategy project is underway, and we invite you to collaborate with us as we envision a rich new media future for the Institution.
So here's your call-to-action:
- Join this group.
- View our Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-XNKD...
- Using your web cam, digital camera, or cell phone, record your thoughts on where we should focus our energies with respect to this question:
Given the news ways of acquiring & sharing knowledge through technology: the internet, social networking, photo & video sharing, and cell phones—where do you see the Smithsonian's museums and websites going in the future? How can we make education more relevant to you in a digital age?
We want your thoughts and ideas. This is your chance to influence our efforts to give you what you want, how and where you want it.
There are no rules other than length - be as creative as you like, but keep it to 1 minute.
This project won't be going on for long, so please shoot a quick video and post it!
Start date: May 21, 2009 | End date: June 30, 2009
You'll be able to see all of the submissions, and a team of us will be watching posts daily and highlighting the most creative and insightful submissions. Lets get those creative juices flowing!
Once the entry period ends (June 30, 2009), we will keep our fans updated on the progress of the Vision.
This is an experiment in collaboration. We are democratizing our planning process and exploring a new way forward for the Institution. If you want to drink more deeply of our Webstrategy planning process, visit our public wiki at http://smithsonian-webstrategy.wikisp...
We can't wait to see and hear what you have to say.
Ready to share your vision?
Please Note: We have to pre-screen submissions for language and inappropriate content, but we will get your contributions online as quickly as possible.
