Painkiller - Cathedral Final Part [All Secrets + Black Tarot Card Found] {HD} galleyuk - 45 views - 1 day ago
Level: Cathedral (Final Part)
Tarot Card Requirement: Find At Least 500 Gold
Secrets: Three
Difficulty: Trauma

Some more action in this part. Not much. But it is near the end of the level so it's forgiveable.

0:26. It's very quick but watch the frozen Psychonun get owned by the Monk's axe which was thrown just as I shot the freezer blast at him. Naturally, I thank the Monk by rewarding him with a shotgun blast.

It took me a long time to realise that there was a ladder to the upper floor in order to get to the final Secret quicker. All the times before I found about it, I had walked all the way back along the ground floor, up the stairs, all the way back along the upper walkway and then I discovered the Secret that way. But I do like to explore every nook and cranny of each level so the experience kind of appealed to me.

Plus it was an excuse to listen to the ambient music that plays between fights. That sort of thing also appeals to me as well.

------------------------------ ----------

Secret Three: After killing all the enemies on the level, DON'T step into the exit portal. Head back up the stairs and look right so you can see a ladder which you can use to get back up to the higher floor.

Walk back out toward the main cathedral area and head left until you find an area that was previously sealed off earlier on in the level. Walk through to find a Secret Area which overlooks the first staircase that was used to enter the inner sanctum of the Cathedral. There are some Urns and Barrels on the ledges which can be broken and destroyed to find coins inside.

Painkiller - Cathedral Part Two [All Secrets + Black Tarot Card Found] {HD} galleyuk - 53 views - 3 days ago
Level: Cathedral (Part Two)
Tarot Card Requirement: Find At Least 500 Gold
Secrets: Three
Difficulty: Trauma

Not a lot of action in this part. Half of it is spent searching for Secrets and treasures because I didn't want to come back at the end of the level looking for them all.

0:07. Hah! I like it when the enemies fly off like that. I forgot how over the top the physics in this game is. It also helps that when recording with Fraps, it seems to make them a lot more reactive.

Secret Two does look daunting to get toward especially if you decide to tackle from the bottom and when you try to record with Fraps at the same time. I tried to piece together the fragmented recordings as best I could so it gives you an idea of how to get there.

Remember, bunny-hopping is your friend.

------------------------------ ----------

Secret One: After killing all the axe-wielding monks (or rather avoid their axes and they die anyway), walk around the corner to find a coffin propped up against the wall. Use this as a boost to bunny-hop up onto the higher ledge to discover a Secret Area with an Ammo Pack and a Holy Item.

Secret Two: Jump down toward the ground floor after finding the first Secret. There will be a large pillar propped against a platform which you can use to bunny-hop up to reach the higher ledge.
When you reach the ledge, use the broken piece of wall to jump over to the other ledge to find a Secret Area where a Megahealth resides.

NOTE: There is another way to reach this Secret without resorting to jumping down to the ground floor. It involves using the ledge that runs around the perimeter and from there you can use that to jump onto the felled pillar. I prefer the first option since it's slightly easier.

Level: Cathedral (Part One)
Tarot Card Requirement: Find At Least 500 Gold
Secrets: Three
Difficulty: Trauma

There's going to be a lot of treasure hunting on this level because of the Tarot Card requirement. It gives me an excuse to fund my obsessive habit with this game. Plus there is a lot of gold on this level.

1:03 - 1:09. Well, it didn't take long before another glitch arose. It's a strange one. What are the odds of me shooting the axe out of the air with a stake which then causes it to rise up toward the ceiling before falling? Million to one?

When battling the giant vampire in the Cathedral, notice the health meter at the top of the HUD where the arrow indicator would be. It has a picture of the Necrogiant boss you fight at the end of this chapter. Were the developers that lazy not to use another picture instead of a place holder?

Little things like that do bother me.

Painkiller Introduction [HD] galleyuk - 391 views - 1 month ago
Painkiller Introduction:

On a stormy night in suburbia, a young man named Daniel Garner, who is happily married to his wife Catherine, is about to take her out for a birthday meal. They drive off towards their destination at high speed in the pouring rain.

As they are driving, Daniel takes his eyes off the road to look at his wife and while his attention is diverted, he ploughs their car into a truck. Both of them are killed instantly.

While Catherine's soul manages to make it to Heaven and lives in harmony, Daniel is trapped in Purgatory and is told that in order to receive purification, he has to kill four of Lucifer's generals in order to prevent a war breaking out between Heaven and Hell. With little choice available to him, Daniel accepts the task.

------------------------------ --------

Well, there you go. This will be the start of my next playthrough of Painkiller and Painkiller: Battle Out of Hell. Don't ask me to do Painkiller Overdose. After playing the demo for that, I found it to be pretty boring compared to the others so I'm giving that one a miss. Besides, by the time I finish this, Painkiller Resurrection might have been released giving me a chance to see what that's like.

I know HD and HQ video quality can be a sore point with you folks because of internet speeds, connection etc. But I just feel that the game looks better presented in HD.

Also, Painkiller was the overwhelming winner in the vote. Do you people not like Blood or have you not heard of it? Well, in any case, Blood would have been very hard to record so I'm glad it lost.

Painkiller - Cemetery Part One [All Secrets + Black Tarot Card Found] {HD} galleyuk - 313 views - 1 month ago
Level: Cemetery (Part One)
Tarot Card Requirement: Finish the Level
Secrets: Four
Difficulty: Trauma

The long journey of Daniel Garner's redemption starts here... I seriously hope my decision to play this on the hardest difficulty doesn't come back to haunt me.

Before any comments are made about why the video transitions when reaching the first Secret (and to be honest it's going to happen a lot on future videos), let me explain. I can only get the best results recording this game with Fraps at 25fps which leaves me, for whatever reason, unable to "bunny-hop" consistently whether it be up a slanted object or just getting from one place to another. Don't worry, it won't occur on every Secret. The video transitions also occur everytime I reach a checkpoint as well. I didn't want the auto saves to slow down the gameplay so I decided not to include them. An executive decision on my part.

1:59 - 2:12, I've been working on my camping skills if you couldn't tell. Only a few seconds later, you can tell that the Painkiller weapon is almost my favourite in-game gore weapon. I think the Cerebral Bore from Turok 2 just beats it.

I'm a bit of a bona-fide treasure hunter in this game. Any coin(s) I see within reach, I have to grab it. It's like an obsession. The Holy Item only sweetens the deal. 6:35 - 7:00 - the infamous barrel-rolling part. Unfortunately, it's not the only time in the level where you have to do this.

Finally, apologies if the sound's a bit low. It'll be different on the next level. Knowing me, it'll probably end up being too loud.

------------------------------ ----------

Secret One: On top of the first crypt you encounter, there is a Secret Holy Item. Next to the crypt is a lamppost you can shoot which will make it fall onto the side of the building. Bunny-hop (or jump) up the lamppost to reach the roof where you're able to grab the Item.

Secret Two: After the third checkpoint, you will enter a small area with an explosive barrel. Roll it out of the way before the tomb collapses and keep it to one side whilst you deal with the enemies. Once the area is cleared, roll the barrel into the area where the next checkpoint is and around the back of the small crypt. Detonate the barrel to blow a hole in the crypt where you can reach the Secret Megahealth.

Painkiller - Cemetery Part Two [All Secrets + Black Tarot Card Found] {HD} galleyuk - 296 views - 1 month ago
Level: Cemetery (Part Two)
Tarot Card Requirement: Finish the Level
Secrets: Four
Difficulty: Trauma

Straight back into the action at the start of this part. Let's face it, bloody gore is what you want to see. Right?

0:32. There we go. There had to be a glitch sooner or later. And a funny one to boot. Damn crows. Get out of my way. You're distracting me from rolling the barrel where I want it to go. Thankfully for the third Secret, you don't have to roll the explosive barrel as far. There were times when I managed to get it pinned in the corner and I was unable to use my momentum to get it out. Talk about frustration.

Huzzah! I can still bunny-hop. I like proving myself wrong. Although I don't think it was the best idea to choose a choke point huddled in a corner waiting for the enemies to come to me. Still, it all worked out well in the end.

Maybe I did go a bit over the top opening the coffins with the Painkiller. It's the quickest way of destroying objects without wasting ammo.

------------------------------ ----------

Secret Three: When you reach the small yard full of Banshees, kill them all and then look for an explosive barrel in the back right corner. Roll it toward the wall on the left from where you entered and detonate it. The wall will fall away revealing a Secret Area with three Ammo Packs.

Secret Four: In the misty area, kill all the enemies and a wall will then fall away in front of a small crypt which leads to some Secret Golden Armour.

Serious Sam: The First Encounter - Introduction galleyuk - 7,601 views - 1 year ago
Serious Sam: The First Encounter -

Introduction/Prologue:

At the dawn of the 21st Century, mankind makes a startling discovery.

Beneath the sands of the earliest known human civilization, traces of another, even more ancient, but technologically advanced civilization are uncovered.

The profound scientific implications of this discovery leads humankind to the far reaches of the universe.

Everything seems perfect, but too perfect to last.

In the year 2104, human civilization is attacked by countless deadly monsters, spawned from another dimension.

In the battles that follow, humankind fights valiantly, but nothing can stop the monsters from coming.

Earth's forces are steadily defeated, planet-by planet, from Alpha Centauri back to their own solar system.

Because of his extreme bravery in battling monsters, Sam "Serious" Stone becomes a legend.

Wounded countless times, but never defeated, Serious Sam becomes a living symbol of the Earth's resistance against the advancing evil.

But no matter the bravely the human armies fight, they are defeated time and again.

Attempts to defend the solar system fail and the Earth is now under direct attack. Humankind stares into the face of its own annihilation.

World leaders must now turn to their last chance, an ancient artifact called the "Time-Lock", a relic from a long-forgotten race imbued with the power to teleport a single person back in time.

The choice of whom to send is obvious...

Serious Sam: TFE - Hatshepsut Temple [All Secrets Found] galleyuk - 8,408 views - 1 year ago
Level: Hatshepsut Temple
Difficulty: Normal
Secrets: Seven

"Ready for Battle!"

This marks the start of the complete playthrough of Serious Sam: The First Encounter. The game goes back to the roots of first person shooting pioneered by Doom with the basic premise of "Shoot First, Ask Questions Later".

Hatshepsut Temple is a simple level to start with and aims to get you familiarised with the gameplay which really doesn't take very long.

When both Mega Secrets are found, The Croteam Heads can get annoying after a while so that's why a few of them were killed just to shut them up. Also, the rocket launcher from Secret Two can make dealing with the Bio-Mechanoids Majors a lot easier out in the desert on the way toward Secret Six.

Apologies for the rather rushed intro, this is when I was first getting to grips with both Fraps and Sony Vegas. So, go easy on my past self.

------------------------------ ----------

Secret One: From the starting position of the game, head towards the pillars on your right and pick up the Secret Colt.

Secret Two: Head up the ramp and then turn left at the top. Jump onto the roof of the building off to the left of the ramp. You'll find some Secret Rocket Ammo.

Secret Three: Head up the ramp and then turn right instead of left (Basically, do the opposite of Secret Two). You'll find a Secret Rocket Launcher.

Secret Four (Mega Secret One): This time head down the ramp. At the bottom of the ramp turn left and blow the door with the rocket launcher. The Croteam Heads will emerge and inside the passage is some Rocket Ammo and Armour.

Secret Five (Mega Secret Two): Same as Secret Four, but turn right and touch the door to open it revealing the Croteam Fans. Inside the passage is some Rocket Ammo.

Secret Six: If you look out toward the far left corner of the desert, you'll see a palm tree. This secret includes the Secret Heart power-up, some Shotgun and Rocket Ammo.

(NOTE: If a stray rocket from a Bio-Mechanoid or your own rocket hits the palm tree, a flock of Scythian Witch-Harpies will spawn)

Secret Seven: Finally make your way back to the temple, head up to the very top of the ramp and then go to the right of the upper temple. Around the back, you'll see a patch of wall that is coloured differently. Touch it and it will lower, revealing a Secret Double Barrelled Coach Gun.

Serious Sam: TFE - Sand Canyon [All Secrets Found] galleyuk - 6,719 views - 1 year ago
Level: Sand Canyon
Difficulty: Normal
Secrets: Six

After clearing the temple of Hatshepsut, Sam moves onto the Sand Canyon where the staple enemy of the Serious Sam series, the Beheaded Kamikaze, is introduced. The forever present Kleer Skeleton also starts to become more prominent from this level onwards.

Secret One and Secret Six can be frustrating to get to as it requires precision jumps in order to reach the secret especially the last secret which took me four attempts.

The item that Sam collects at the end of the level is one of the four Elements which is required for later on in the game.

------------------------------ ----------

Secret One: When you first get outside on this level, you want to head for the tree on the hill that's in front of you. Run at an angle up the side of the mountain and jump. You will be able to reach the Secret Valley with some Rocket Ammo, Bullets and Shotgun ammo.

Secret Two: Jump between the same cliff face and the first building. Touch the wall to reveal a Secret Room with some Armour, Rocket Ammo, Bullets and Shotgun Ammo.

Secret Three: On the right hand wall of the Marsh-Hopper room, there is a wall you can push against that will reveal a Secret Area with a Tommy Gun and some Bullets.

Secret Four: In the next room, just to the left of the entrance, there is a hidden bounce pad that allows you to each the Secret Armour on the right hand pillar above the doorway.

Secret Five: Straight ahead of this room there's a little side room with a tiny ramp in it. In a hole under the ramp, there is a Secret Health Bottle.

Secret Six: At the very end of the level, you need to get on top of the monument covering the exit. Just to the left of the it is where you can run up the side and jump onto the roof. There is some Secret Shotgun Ammo and a Health Pill up there. Collecting the Health Pill spawns some Gnaars.

Serious Sam II - Planet M'Digbo - Jungle [All Secrets Found] galleyuk - 2,639 views - 9 months ago
Planet: M'Digbo
Level: Jungle
Secrets: Four
Difficulty: Normal

Due to numerous requests after my other Serious Sam playthroughs, I decided to bow down to pressure and make a full playthrough of Serious Sam II.

Now with 99% less black borders on the sides of the video during gameplay (that is, until widescreen came along).

As opposed to my other playthroughs where I did a continuous runthrough of the game, this game will be done level by level separately instead of one constant walkthrough.

The atmosphere in this game is more upbeat and "cartoony" compared to the more realistic and serious (pardon the pun) approach Croteam took with the First and Second Encounters.

Another new addition was the lives system that was incorporated instead of having to reload your last saved or quick saved games (although you can still choose to do that).

At the start, I use the sneaky way of getting the basketball secret to activate as most of the time I can never get the ball in the net the other way.

At 4:29, the chicken just HAD to get in the way of the goal as soon I threw the ball toward it.

------------------------------ ----------

Non-Secret: At the start of the level, head left into the small village and you'll see a basketball net. Pick up the basketball next to it and throw into the net to receive a Treasure Bag (Yes, I did it the sneaky way rather than the proper way).

Secret One: After the small village, there is a waterfall with a big pond in front of it. Head toward the waterfall and jump on the rocks in front of it. Walk through the falls to discover a Secret Cave with Coins, a Treasure Bag and a Treasure Chest.

Secret Two: After you solve the opening door puzzle, head right and you'll see a mini football field with a chicken in it. A football will be hanging from a tree next to it. Shoot it down and throw into either of the goals to receive a Secret Treasure Bag.

Secret Three: Just before the big arch that leads down toward the Monkey Head exit, go left toward the left hand wall and you'll see a switch which, when activated, will open a Super Shortcut Secret. The wall will open and in the cave will be boxes containing Coins, Shotgun Ammo and Grenades. When you step through the portal, you'll be transported back out into the open where a bigger Dino with more health will also spawn.

Secret Four: As you head toward the Monkey Head exit, there is a waterfall to your left with a small platform high up to the left of it. Shoot the platform (preferably with Dino's fire breath) and a Secret Rocket Launcher will drop down to the ground.

Serious Sam II - Planet M'Digbo - Riverdance [All Secrets Found] galleyuk - 1,724 views - 9 months ago
Planet: M'Digbo
Level: Riverdance
Secrets: Five
Difficulty: Normal

After navigating the Monkey Head cave, Sam reaches the river and proceeds toward the Simba village to find the village chief who may give him more information about the Medallion piece.

The dynamite hut at the beginning I only explore to see what is inside (also to let you see which hut is detonated in Secret Four). I believe you can take some of the dynamite sticks and use them against the enemies.

Admittedly, on the second bridge crossing, I could have used some grenades to clear up the enemies quicker but sometimes I forget I actually have them to use (must still be in Second Encounter mode). Saying that, I do use some at the end to clear the last group of enemies.

At 6:47, you should be able to see the hut, with all the dynamite in, explode after activating the Secret Switch.

The reason why the Rocket Launcher from the previous level doesn't make an appearance is because this playthrough will be done level by level separately as opposed to a continuous walkthrough. When each new separate level is started, you are given the default weapons that you should have collected by that point and a reasonable amount of ammo.

------------------------------ ----------

Secret One: As you walk along the beach, enter the first hut on the right after the hut that has dynamite inside. Inside this hut, there is a bowl of chilli. "Eat" from it to activate a Farting Secret which spawns in a Treasure Bag.

Secret Two: Before crossing the first bridge, look to your left to discover two Simbas in a Secret Sexy Bush.

Secret Three: Walk across the first bridge and look left. You should see a Serious Bomb on a raft; shoot the rope tether and the raft will drift toward the shore allowing you to collect the Serious Bomb.

Secret Four: From the bridge, go right toward the beach and there should be a Secret Switch which, when activated, will destroy the wooden hut near the beginning which had all the dynamite inside.

Secret Five: After crossing the second bridge, look right and you should see a giant banana nestled behind a rock. Pick up the banana and throw it into the giant stone monkey's mouth. Three Primitives will spawn from its mouth.

Serious Sam II - Planet M'Digbo - M'Keke Village galleyuk - 928 views - 9 months ago
Planet: M'Digbo
Level: M'Keke Village
Secrets: N/A
Difficulty: Normal

Sam finds out from the Village Chief that Kwongo has the Medallion piece and the only Simba that can call him back is the Shaman who is being held prisoner by Mental's forces. Before Sam can leave, the village is ambushed.

This is one of the shorter levels in the game where the basic premise is to defend the village from the invading enemies. There are no secrets in this level since it's so small.

Before any comments are made regarding why I didn't use any grenades to quickly to take out any enemies, especially the giant Albino; again I forgot I had them to use (still thinking that I'm in the Second Encounter). Regardless, I still had enough ammo to take most of the enemies out anyway. Plus I like to give myself a challenge.

I don't know what was going on with the Simba trying to give me shotgun ammo halfway during the battle. I could only assume it was a glitch that caused this.

One thing I tend to dislike about this level is the Simbas sometimes tend to get in the line of fire (which could give me another reason why I didn't use grenades). Also, the Clawdovic parrot used by the Village Chief always seem to kill the enemy that I'm about to take a shot at which wastes ammo as well.

I like in the end cutscene how the village is back to normal after half of it was destroyed.
